My family has had a unit at this location for over 5 years, and have never had any issues. We made the decision to move out recently, and Ryan was beyond helpful every step of the way. I highly recommend this company and specifically this location if you are inside the loop in Houston. Amber and the staff are extremely professional and courteous. They make you feel welcome and secure in the knowledge that your belongings are being properly protected once you leave. Amber was kind enough to stay past close on a Saturday night to drill out the lock of my unit after I lost my key. This kind of top notch customer service is sadly not easy to come by nowadays but you'll find it here. I left voicemails on 8/28, 8/29, and early September after clearing out storage unit 2093 on 8/28/24, requesting a callback about returning the unit. When I finally received a response after my 3rd call, I was informed they'd inspect the unit and let me know if anything was needed. I was told I could keep the key. I received no further communication, so I assumed everything was fine. However, upon receiving my September bill, I called again for a refund and was then informed I needed to remove the key and lock, which I was never told initially. This miscommunication resulted in an extra month's charge. Clear communication and proper follow-up could have avoided this issue, and due to this experience, I cannot recommend your services.

Overall, I had a good experience at this CubeSmart location (1202 Shepherd). The facility is clean and the staff is helpful. The only drawback is the periodic increase in rents with less than a month’s notice. This happened twice during my storage stay and my rent increased over 50% in 18 months.

Absolutely horrible storage service. They price gouge and change prices of the storage unit at their will without notice and then charge additional fees after you pay additional fees to keep you in arrears. They inundate you with text messages without your consent. They should be sued for deceptive trade practices. I'm out of town so I cannot move my things but trust me as soon as I'm able I will. They invited me to add this review and this is my review. Bum service.

May 12 an employee broke into my storage unit and stole several of my valuables. The entire incident was captured on Cube Smart cameras. I never heard from anyone as far as corporate or a store manager. I had to go back and forth with their insurance company about this incident. I provided serval forms of evidence and still nothing from anyone. I have yet to hear from anyone about this matter or even if the employee that committed this crime received a reprimand or disciplinary action. Be mindful of your lock -I purchased one from Cube Smart-. They’re flagging my honest review.

I reserved a unit on the ground floor, but was assigned a unit in the second floor after paying with no warning ahead of payment. Then I was offered to upgrade to a larger unit in the ground floor at nearly double the price (no discount/goodwill for this 'mistake'). The manager (Ivan) was apologetic but apparently cannot do anything to resolve the issue. The regional manager who can just didn't seem to care at all. At least I got a refund, but this bait and switch approach is near criminal. If it was an honest mistake they (the regional manager) should have at least been willing to offer a discount on the larger unit. I feel bad for Ivan and Amber who seem to really want to do well for their customers.

Clean and safe property, multiple carts should be replaced. Price increases were unsustainable, approximately a 56% increase in the monthly rate from 2019 to today. The unit is posted online again today for new customers at $108 in store rate/ base rate similar to the rate from 2019 just to provide insight into how it is annual price increases once you move in that you should be cautious of.

My only problem is that there was supposed to be a bag in the unit when I opened it (using the code they gave me to open their lock) the first time. It was not there. Not happy at all. Just received a text message that this month has increase my rent normally I pay $83 now $103 ,absolutely not. Not sure why it’s an increase I called the call center and they informed me that the office is closed on Sundays. This is very frustrating. I thought I was locked in for the $80 price and now to have a jump in price this is annoying. I have only been here for a couple of months, not even a year!! Might end up leaving here. If this cannot be resolved. Crazy how they can just throw more charges at you. Might want to get more options so this doesn’t happen to you.!!!

I just rented a storage place here. The rental was quick and easy online. Sharon, the office manager, could not have been more helpful. She went with me and showed me where the space was. Everything was very clean and well organized. I could use their carts to schlep my stuff from my car into the space. Bim bam boom the whole process took 15 minutes.

It's a nice storage facility and the staff is courteous, place is secure and clean, but the longer you have your storage space, the more money they will gouge you. They lure you in with a great deal, and then continually hike the prices. There is also an extra fee to pay online, because continual price gouging just isn't enough money for them to milk from you.

I was locked in and no way to exist after. I called the listed number and no answer. I had to leave car there overnight. the manage was inconsiderate, she blamed me when they did not answer the emergency line. Even the police that I called, couldn’t get a hold of them either.

Closes at 10pm on Sunday. 1 0 P M??!! They are not joking!! Was just there on a recent Sun. helping out some friends when we discovered (10PM MEANS 10PM) Got stuck at 10:04 staring at (Closed Access Denied) on the keypad trying to leave. Ended up stuck for a good chunk of time.. But Hey!! Totally our fault. Signs clearly posted. It’s just a lot of the info on those signs weren’t working, ie.(Manager always on site 24/7)not there, (#’s posted for assistance) no answer, left messages of course, kicker was the (current acct. driven mobile app) witch has a remote opening option for cases just like ours?? No luck there either.. Again I’m not a customer of CudeSmart and was just there helping some friends but I will say this place is everything you’d be looking for when it comes to Storage!!! Very well kept, professional looking, not ta mention SECURELY driven facility…. P.S. A really nice rep. did reach back with a secret code?? Tim L. Would Definitely Recommend’em!! I think the office staff is doing a great job. But there seems to be miscommunication from the company to the people who are running the locations. The company itself needs to care more about current storage renters than just getting in new people. And price gouging is at an all time high for current renters and new renters are getting a great option for a discount. Not the best way to run a business. Supply and demand, I get it. But it’s like selling overpriced gasoline or fresh water during a hurricane. It’s just not right.

The employees of the location where I chose to rent space were fantastic. In every way. Expediting my rental helping me to procure a U-Haul at the last minute and make it work for me. The management is OK. It's the company itself that is as bad as they get. Don't be late. They'll slap a $100 lien fees in a NY minute. They will not take any partial payments of any kind. Excellent! Manager, Ken, is extremely helpful and personable. It's very clear that he has the utmost respect and pride for his role! Top-notch service upon move-in; then I even saw him with a mop to remove a spot from the otherwise spotless floors. Also very impressed with the security system, with special locks that sync to gate code inputs in real-time. Staff monitors to ensure that only units that SHOULD be open are in fact open. Lots of cameras, gated parking lot, and access code required inside of elevator, only allowing access to the floor on which unit is located.

I had such a pleasant experience today with Cindy and Ken! I had spoken with Cindy over the weekend about renting a storage space and she is just as sweet in person as she was over the phone! When I got to the property I toured one of the 5x5 units and it was just what I needed. We went back to the office where Cindy thoroughly explained the policies of the storage company and gave a detailed break down of the price list. The facility is very clean and has several security measures. Every access/exit and every unit door opening/closed is logged, which us a very assuring feature. The staff is also very nice and helpful. I've been in contact over the phone with Cindy, who is a pleasure to deal with, and on move-in day I filled the paperwork with Ken, who was friendly and well-informed, and took the time to answer all my questions. There was a nice message in the unit upon move in, with a checklist of all the cleaning steps that had been taken before handing off the unit, which was impeccable. Note that prices listed do not include monthly insurance (state-required, and you can use coverage you might have through homeowners insurance), and you will have to purchase an inexpensive cylinder lock upon move-in. Still, it's definitely worth it with the very competitive prices, plus the peace of mind that the secure facilities offer. Lookimg forward to storing my precious for a long time with Ken, Cindy, and the team at thos CubeSmart location!

Manager is top notch - friendly, dedicated, familiar with our needs, answered all of our questions, and provided a tour of the facility, escorted us to our unit, and pointed out security features throughout. Facility emphasis is on location and secure access, entry and exit. Both our unit and the facility as a whole was impeccably clean. For in-town transport, a covered truck is available to customers for a nominal charge - useful for moving in “all-weather” conditions and instances where a smaller truck is impractical.

The kindness of the staff here is so authentic and spot on. just did a build a couple blocks away and needed a location to hold all of the equipment. i found cubesmart and grabbed 4 storage units... let me just say i have never had a storage facility take care of someone as much as this place did. i was greeted by Cindy and Trent with a smile and was eagered to help in every way. when i would receive packages they would call and ask what units to put them in and i was blown away cause no other storage facility would ever do that let alone even take the delivery. not only did it save me time but it save me a headache of trying to coordinate deliveries... i appreciate everything they did not to mention went way above and beyond for any help needed. don't know if all cubesmarts are like this but if this is how they do business then there's nowhere else to look. they are safe, secure and give you peace of mind. thank you Cindy for making my build that much more easier. see even the owner replies back lol AWESOME!!

The process of reserving my storage unit online was very easy and straightforward! Cindy, the manager at this location, followed up very quickly with a call to confirm and walked me through all of the next steps. She was extremely accommodating and informative in making sure that i was familiar with the facilities and that my move-in went as smoothly as possible. I only wish all property managers were as on top of things as Cindy! The property and storage unit itself are very clean and well-lit and feel very secure. The covered parking area with easy access to the building entrances is a very nice bonus if you happen to be moving your things in on a very hot afternoon.

Everyone is so NICE and HELPFUL, especially Chris, who helped me on my move in day and Cindy, the manager! I loved the great price for my 10x10 and it's such a clean facility too. One of my favorite things is that there are LOTS of carts next to every elevator. The last place I was (PS), I had to walk the long way to the management office, sign a cart out, and go all the way back through a locked gate and then up to my unit - all a pain in the neck. My faith in storage facilities has been restored! This one is different. A cut above the rest! If you can’t tell by the website then you will feel it the minute you are greeted at the door! They amazingly sparkling clean, friendly, efficient, and even more affordable than the others! I have been a longtime renter at the other company (PS) and it was just bleh. The buildings the equipment the employees all of it. This is a complete 360°!! At my location in Houston, the Manager, Cindy Smith, is beyond delightful and she is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. I HIGHLY recommend you come here if you are looking for a storage spot! Oh yeah and they have a moving truck you can use and the unloading area is COMPLETELY covered so the sun won’t bother you or the rain!

I worked with the GM, Cindy, to rent a storage unit at CubeSmart. As a business owner, I can only hope to one day convince Cindy to leave CubeSmart and work for me. She was efficient, concise, and very stern regarding the security policies in place for CubeSmart which reassured me that my belongings will be safe there. The facility itself is excellent. Clean, well lit, accessible, and the noticeable dryness of the air in the facility compared to a few others in the area was reassuring that the contents of my storage unit will be perfectly preserved.

I rented a small climate control storage with this location for about a year. The staff was always friendly and helpful. The entire process of getting my personal property securely stored and vacating the storage facility was pleasant. No surprise fees or run around. The facility is clean and very secure. She was having a really bad day when I went in, and she still kept it together and was nice about everything, even when people came in and were complaining about having made the wrong choices. I just moved some items into a new storage facility. I have used off-site storage facilities a number of times over the years. This is the best experience I have had to date. I was helped by Tasha and she was great. Everything went quickly and smoothly during the move in process. The facility is clean and well maintained, by far, the nicest facility I have ever stored items in. One note for everyone regarding all self-storage facilities. Please check with your insurance agent. If you have home owners insurance, most policies will cover contents off-site. It is worth checking because the insurance that any storage company will sell you is rather expensive for what you get.

The team at CubeSmart went above and beyond to make the storage process easy! The facilities are only 2 years old and very well kept. The location right off Shephard and near I10 is convenient and the access process (gate code/floor code) is very easy. The complimentary ($10) move in truck was a life saver. I've used this CubeSmart for well over a year and have been consistently satisfied with the value and quality. This location is easy to access from I-10 or Memorial and is equipped with plenty of security measures and cameras for one to feel at peace about the safety of their belongings. Cindy (the GM) is a friendly gem of a woman. She and her team delivered top-notch customer service. I wish more places demonstrated her business ethic! The premises are kept very clean and tidy, and there's access to a nice indoor bathroom and water fountains. The carts provided for transport of items are well-maintained and roll smoothly across the ground. They're also large and sturdy enough to handle big loads. Elevators and doorways don't have awkward spacing gaps that catch the wheels of whatever you're rolling. If you need storage in the Shepherd area, CubeSmart is the way to go.

My wife and I recently decided to make the move from another storage provider in the Galleria area over to CubeSmart, primarily because we moved to the Rice Military area last year and wanted storage closer to home. What we didn't realize is how much newer, nicer, cleaner, more secure - and cheaper - CubeSmart was over the old place! We are heavy duty storage users and were able to combine three smaller units from the old place into one larger unit at CubeSmart. We saved over $300 per month! Cindy, the manager at CubeSmart, was a delight to work with. She was professional and friendly, and explained everything that we might need to know about the new space. I only wish that we would have known what a poor experience we were actually having at the old place; we would have made the move much more quickly.

During the 2018 Houston flood, my brother had to be hospitalized and I needed a place to store his personal belongings. Many storage facilities were either flooded or inaccessible. I finally got lucky and discovered Cubesmart on Shepherd. I was able to set up an account, select a unit, and make arrangements to have his items moved there even though I would be back home in California at the time. It's because the managers there did so much more than just take my money and hand me a key. They took an interest in my personal situation and helped me long distance in getting the items moved in. Security is first class, the managers are professional and sharp, their superior service is worth every dime. I highly recommend Cubesmart on Shepherd in Houston for superior storage service.

Really shocking compared to the trashy old Public Storage units that I’ve recently used. Which, by the way, were broken into at 3732 Westheimer in Houston. Many locks cut and items stolen. Cindy was absolutely outstanding! My husband and I were looking for air conditioned storage unit. We live right down the road from here so we thought we would give it a try. We came in and Cindy, General Manager was working. She enlightened us with the available options of the units she has available. She offered us multiple choices and then we made our way to go see our options. We ended up choosing a 5x5 unit which was about $52 a month. She walked us to our unit where she informed us about the safety and security of the storage units. She went into full detail about the locks, cameras, key pad, hours of operations, anything.. you name it she knew the answer to it. She was very informative! We had a great experience here. She was truly helpful and offered us a 10% discount. Highly recommend this place!

This is another opportunity for me to brag on this facility and the wonderful staff. I found this great facility a few months ago while transitioning homes. The initial experience was great, from getting general information, looking up the different units, to setting up my account, gate code and automatic payment. Recently I transitioned to a smaller unit due to my current needs and Cindy was there for me. She understood my needs and got me exactly what I needed. Cindy was sweet, professional and extremely welcoming. This facility is great, always clean and well maintained. Inside temperature of the building is perfect to make sure your valuables are well maintained. I am very pleased with the overall value and experience!! Update: finally moved out. 2.5 years and my belongings and valuables are in perfect condition. I must highlight cleanliness, environment (air conditioning and music), and management as top factors when selecting a storage unit. I found also price to be comparable for the value, although still lower than two other facilities in the area.

If you’re like me- in search of a reasonably priced, decent storage unit- then CubeSmart on Shepard is your place to go. Cindy was very helpful and I was able to get a large, climate controlled unit at a reasonable price. They also had a move in special that gave me first month free. I recommend this location to anyone in search of a storage unit in the inner loop!

Mrs. Cindy Smith is legendary and amazing. She's beyond friendly and helpful. I keep forgetting we aren't family. Even after you secure your unit. Her kindness never ceases. She was a comfort and a lifesaver on a difficult day. I had a blowout. Luckily near cubesmart. On my way to work. On a Saturday. She made me feel so much better about the whole thing! This is by far one of the BEST storage units I've seen in Houston, hands down. The building is super clean and it comes with a state of the art security system which is exactly what I was I looking for. Ms. Cindy was very informative, sooo nice and very helpful! Our company was comparing prices for storage units and CubeSmart was the best. We stopped in to get everything situated and management went above and beyond every time. I had spoken with John on the phone several times and he was accommodating and patient while we worked through the transition. On our final visit, we met with Cindy and she was awesome. The facilities are very clean and located in a convenient space. 10/10 would recommend CubeSmart!

Thanx to covid I haven't been able to visit my storage unit in over a year. Brought one of my sisters with me for the first time to check out all the stuff I have in my unit. Right when we walked in, the first thing out of her mouth was "F___!" I asked her what happened. "Who the h___ did the cleaning here? This building is f______ huge. I hope it was at least a couple people doing all this s___. This place smells f______ clean!" Sorry for all the bombs my sister dropped, but needless to say, she's a neat-freak with a sailor's mouth who might become a future customer. Many thanx 2 Cindy and the Cubesmart Kids.

From phone calls to in person the service was the same..... superior ! I had to move and usually deal wirh public storage but the quality of there service was horrible although this was the same property and manager she changed for the worst. So I googled was very scared because I've never heard of a cube storage but not one person was every nasty all has a sympathetic and caring attitude .ALSO IM IN LOVE .....Manager Mrs. Cindy Smith at the Shepard location in Houston is awesome nice clean faculties and so much better than public storage......

With such a devastating situation myself, my family, as well as other Houstonians experienced. I was lost and trying to put things in order. I need to be able to rebuild and put a few items I was able to save. I was referred to CubeSmart by NY neighbor. I was greeted by Janae when I walked in and she was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I have over 10 years of customer service, customer relations, and conflict management experience. Janea is a person who epitomizes what customer service is!! One of the things I won't forget is since Harvey I hadn't really had a good lightheaded laugh. Well I did when talking to Janae. I have been extremely happy with CubeSmart, N. Shepherd, particularly since Cindy Smith, took over as General Manager, three months ago! Cindy is always pleasant and friendly, coupled with being businesslike and completely knowledgeable about the company and its properties.The place is spotlessly clean, particularly the bathroom facilities and lobbies! Compared to her predecessor in the position, I would give her a SIX star rating, it were possible! THOROUGHLY RECOMMENDED!

A fast, friendly check-in. State-of-the-art security technology. My contents are protected with insurance. And the unit close to my home. Easy access and moving dollies are available right next to to the elevators. A brand new facility that is kept very clean. Couldn't ask for more.

i love the experience, the prices are very low, staff super friendly, Jeane's team is amazing; they answered all my question, Jenae even offered me to come by for coffee if i am ever in the area.(Coffee is incredible) This is place where you get 5 star treatment, clean units, a/c controlled units, and a price you can't beat. i tried looking all through Houston, this the best deal around. trust me.

I called the number for this location and it was handled by a call center. The rep was very polite, but I feel not completely upfront with me. He said that with the free month, my first payment would be 24.00. I even received an email with that fee. Before we hung up, he said there would be a monthly NOMINAL charge for insurance for my belongings, but did not have that amount. So I go the Shepard Drive location where the on-duty rep assisted me, again very politely, wrote my deal up. It was NOT 24.00, but 53.00. The minimal monthly insurance was going to add $12.00 a month to my bill, ALONG with the $17.99 cost of a specialized lock for my unit. Nope, can't put a damn padlock on the thing. And this cylinder lock will not work on any thing else but this unit from what I can tell , and now I own it. The business here is brand new and is really nice. But the way this transaction went about has left a bad taste in my mouth. The young man on the phone with me had to KNOW the insurance pricing, but failed to tell me...........for what reason I do not know. My advice is to ask them what the cost is when they mention it, and don't take a BS answer either about not knowing. They KNOW.
