ITS NOT SECURE I moved to this unit 12 days ago and I was robbed, the manager was not there, there was no sign that I was forced, nor are there cameras in the hallway where my belongings are kept. There is definitely a thief within the staff, I hope you can give me back the $1,500 that has been stolen from me in belongings this is annoying and disappointing look for how to do an internal investigation and improve consumer safety!!!

NOT Secure!!! Reporting to FTC! I moved into this storage unit in May and went back to visit once in August and things seemed all well and good. The second time I went back was on September 8th only to find that my unit had been tossed and I had been robbed of over 4,000 dollars worth of items. Not only was I robbed but my lock had no signs that someone had tampered with it.(This lock was also purchased from the facility on my move in day). I reported it to the company that Monday when they opened and I reported it to the police that day after discovery. I feel as though this was an inside job and the company is not doing anything to make the situation right. Each floor is code protected & no one else has access to my storage outside of myself. (Beware they only have cameras at the elevators.) Its truly a bad fit for anyone looking to protect their items. I reached out to the corporate office and still have yet to be contacted. There needs to be an internal investigation and all of the camera feed needs to be screened. I believe many more people may have been robbed and it takes months before they even realize especially when you have a lot of items and barely visit. I know I cannot be the only victim of a robbery! It’s sad to say that I am looking into taking legal action if something isn’t done soon! I also paid for rental insurance and it has been over three weeks and there has been no movement on that part either. Long story short this location is not as safe and secure as it appears to be. If you value your items look somewhere else.

I've had a storage cell here for two years, but just moved out because the fee went up 25% from the already high increase of 13% after the first year. I knew it was going to be too high going forward, but 25% is outrageous. No reason for it, especially with so many empty storage units. Definitely not a long-time storage solution for me.

I had requested several times to have the District Manager contact me regarding a dispute about a 20% increase to my rate fir a 10x10 storage unit after only 6 months of renting this unit. That would mean a 40.% increase after 1 year! This is a classic “Switch and Bait” and after at least 6 requests to speak with this manager he has still never gotten back to me to discuss this matter! This is the worst Customer Service I have ever had! My unit is the CubeSmart in Philadelphia on Callowhill Rd Please have someone get back to me before I post this complaint with the Better Business Bureau and on several other sites on the internet. One month in- difficult design for car loading, very poor provided carts for moving stuff- and twice now best ones monopolized by staff for their convenience (see photo). Security at loading area is not great since it relies on folks to close door. Clean and seemingly vermin free, but a bit disappointing. We have rented perhaps a dozen units in five cities in last ten years- this is coming in about 9th so far

When I arrived I found the lock on the unit was damaged. While the unit is able to close and lock, it is less secure than other units in the facility due to the faulty nature of the latch. I expressed my concerns to the staff on duty. They made no discernible efforts to resolve my concerns besides a vague offer to repair the latch. I was told the unit I rented was the only one of its size available. I was not offered any other redress. I did not feel as though the staff took my concern seriously. They assured me my unit was secure even though the latch was clearly broken. They told me they’d take “special care” of it and gave me the impression my concerns were silly or unnecessary. I chose to stay with the unit I rented - mostly because I was in a time crunch. While the unit seemed more or less secure, “more or less secure” is below the standard I’d hope for when choosing a facility. Overall I was disappointed with the state of my unit, the service I received, and was left with a bad taste in my mouth. Expressing concern about a broken latch should not lead to me feeling silly for bringing it up with the staff. In my opinion I should have been offered another unit until the one I requested was repaired. I understand that might not be your policy and don’t expect special treatment. However that’s how I would have handled it if it were my business. Ultimately I chose to stay with the unit I was assigned but I can’t shake the feeling my belongings are unsafe. I won’t be staying with you beyond this month and when I return from the trip the necessitated me using storage I will be closing my unit out. Thank you.

On April 20th I stopped by the CubeSmart in Callowhill, Philadelphia and for the first time since the move in I walked into the office to inquire information on other units. I was greeted by Keisha who was very courteous and extremely helpful. She was greatly knowledgeable about the CubeSmart product and made great recommendations. She made my entire experience at this storage facility a pleasant one and will forever be grateful for all the help she provided. Keisha is an asset to CubeSmart and hope management recognizes her efforts. I recommend this facility not only for their customer service but also because they care about safety. This is the worst storage unit I ever saw. They broke into my storage unit and stole my wife’s shoes and her purses and all my kids stuff. My sons electronics wanted it like $25,000 with the stuff and they see they check locks every day and they they I don’t recommend no one to get the storage unit and this is not the safest storage unit I ever saw in my life as I wish this comment helps you guys for all those who wants this storage and they say this is a very lock storage. No one can break into it.

STAY FAR AWAY from this storage facility . We moved out our stuff yesterday and there was a ton of water in our unit - it ruined our couch. We were told that the leak was an ongoing issue but we’re not once notified about it. We filed an insurance claim but of course the facility wasn’t helpful. Avoid at all costs.

Highly recommend this Cubesmart. I stored my stuff for 9 months at this location. It’s clean and easy to access. Mary is fantastic. When I moved my stuff out, a few pieces from my desk were left behind in the unit. Mary retrieved them from the unit and put them aside for me. All it took was one phone call and she was very nice, even though I was super embarrassed by my oversight. Great customer service!

Horrible experience! I reserved a storage unit from their website, offering a special discounted price. Upon arrival at facility, I am informed the unit they have available for me, does not apply to discounted price. Only "certain" units are available at the discounted price, however, it does not state this on their website. When they show me the unit, it is dirty and smaller than what I reserved. The other units available for discount all have a defect, a huge pole in middle of unit, which takes up 1/4 of the unit etc! My list of complaints is endless. They their lease agreements is written is totally musworded and the girl working was not cooperative in assisting me with any of these issues. I I do not recommend this facility or the company, as they do not stand behind their word and not reputable!! IMPORTANT UPDATE: THE OTHER DAY I WENT BACK TO STORAGE FACILTY TO FINISH UP LAST MINUTE DETAILS WITH MY RENTAL LEASE. I HAD THE PLEASURE OF DEALING WITH LEONARD, WHO WAS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE, HELPFUL AND EXTREMELY PLEASANT TO DEAL WITH!! HE MADE SUCH A DIFFERENCE!! HE IS A TRUE GEM!! I REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR HELP! KUDOS TO LEONARD!!!!!!

Originally reserved a unit only 2 days prior to my move in date. While the process was made very seamlessly, the unit located in the basement was damaged the next day, but the staff (Mary!) was super attentive and communicative. I was quickly offered another similar unit without issues. Number of available units are limited but overall a place I feel comfortable with and would definitely recommend.

I paid to keep storage because they gave me a deal of 50% off for my first month. When it was time for me to use a storage unit as I was picking up furniture, I ended up having to pay the full amount which is not promised me. It took them all day for them to figure out my solution, and I still have not received my refund. I was also promise that I will get my first months rent free and they already have sent me a notice for first month rent.

Never was made aware that I needed to put my own lock on the unit, after they provided me with one. They took the lock off in the middle of the work day, then texted me saying my unit had no lock on it. You couldn't have just told me "In 24 hours we are taking the lock off"? I now have to wait until the end of the work day to put a lock on, meaning my personal belongings are exposed to anyone walking into the building for hours. Unprofessional. Non-communicative. Do not recommend this facility to anyone.

Mary is AMAZING. She is incredibly patient, efficient and task oriented. I work for a school and we recently ran into a parking shortage for our staff and I needed temporary parking options ASAP. Mary dove right in and starting assisting me with best promotional options and payment plans. WOW! she helped me out so much. This parking thing was an issue for a month and it was disturbing my peace. There was a lot of back and forth between management and staff .... and a WHOLE lotta miscommunication She put me at ease and assured me all would be well. She was right! All WAS well. We have a 10' x 14' unit and, after going to the unit on Tuesday, June 21 at 7PM, the elevator (#2) malfunctioned and with large noises and major thunks, it stopped with us in it and we were trapped between the 5th and 4th floor. We used the emergency button and the call center was helpful but hampered by management protocol and they were unable to secure a rescue soon enough for us. After 15 minutes without a resolution coming from Cube Smart we called 911 - very fortunately our cell phones worked. The 4th & Arch Rescue team showed up - 12 firemen and at least 2 fire trucks and they got us out of the elevator car - we had been trapped for 45 long minutes. Cube Smart didn't contact us at all. When we called and then emailed them for an understanding about the safety of the elevator and an apology they did respond with no information and a "hope you have a good day!" email. We're extremely unhappy and have no confidence in the safety of the building and elevators.

Met 2 girls on the 5th st Philadelphia location. The girl with the head covering was being trained and had no idea what she was doing. Showed me the wrong size unit and I only caught it by the price. She then had to show me the correct size and said she would fix the price to match what was online but then didn't. The girl training her was very unprofessional and cursed at me over the phone and threatened to cancel my unit before I had my items moved. AVOID THIS LOCATION

I stored my things at the CubeSmart Callowhill location and had such a great experience. Moving can be so stressful and this part - finding a space, reserving it, paying for it, moving things into it and then moving out - was all so easy, both to understand the steps and then to take them. The folks who work here were kind and patient, walked me through everything, and always happy to offer help or guidance. Would definitely recommend - especially if you find a space on the ground floor. Was by far the easiest part of my move.

This building is just unsafe. The elevators are ALWAYS broken, and will only take you to certain floors. I have not been able to access my unit on the top floor for weeks now and the front office tells me it’s because my code isn’t working, yet I’m able to use it to open the front gate, front door, and access all other floors except 4&5 with the broken elevator, it’s always a different excuse. Only one of the elevators is usually working at a time. This left me stuck on the 5th floor alone for an entire hour, banging on the elevator door and looking for a normal stairwell, leaving me to miss a work meeting because the down button would not call the elevator and I eventually just had to use the extremely sketchy emergency exit stairwell (alarm does not sound, it’s not hooked up) to carry my heavy boxes down 5 flights of stairs to the one door that would let me out on the street side of the building. I cannot use the emergency stairs every time I need to get to my unit, it’s simply unsafe coming here alone. Go somewhere else or only use the 1st floor.

The front office staff are not very pleasant or helpful. Only 1 of 2 elevators worked the whole time we had stuff in storage which means we pay more for movers' time to move stuff. The moving equipment is really old. We paid a high monthly fee to store our stuff so expected more for the price.

I called the store to set up a reservation? & somebody picked up with a British-like accent.. mid conversation their accent switched to american!? Me being an native for Britain—I found it quite offensive. Will not be storing here.

Awful. Less than one star. The day I moved out the elevator was broken. Very few things a storage facility has to do, but keeping the elevator working is one of them. Took mover much longer, increasing cost of move by a lot. Staff on Callowhill street facility in Philadelphia said elevator had been out for a month. They were smug to hostile and didn't care. There seemed to be some slight of hand signing up, as the ultimate monthly cost was a LOT higher than what I understood I was signing up for. They were rotten to the core with me, even with the little things, like charging me a fee to pay my bill. If I was looking for storage, I would look elsewhere.

The staff has been great. When they didn't have the size unit I desired, a lady called a couple days later and said what I wanted was available. When I called to pay a male employee said to pay online and I did it but accidentally didn't complete it and he even called to let me know it did not go through. Very pleased! We've been storing stuff there on and off for 3 years and have always been very happy with the service.

The representative had a warm demeanor and really actively listened to what I was looking for. It has been a pleasure dealing with CubeSmart. First, they do what they promise - keep your goods dry, temperature controlled (if you elect) and safe. Plus you have incredibly easy (24/7) access. Unfortunately, this storage location is not safe. My unit, along with many others, were vandalized last year. It was a traumatic experience, and management did not even inform us. We filed a police report. Management did not care! Their chicken wire that covers the top of the units is really flimsy and thieves entered from there. Looked like an inside job! Worst place to store your belongings, as we saw many flying cockroaches in the night time!

My experience with CubeSmart has been nothing but extremely positive! From the moment I came in searching for unit, the staff were standouts. Miles, in particular, was a godsend. Every company should strive to have managers like him. He was extremely informative and pleasant while I was researching a unit and trying to figure out what was the best fit for me (and all of my stuff). Jesse was also fantastic...on my second or third trip to the storage unit on move in day, he must have seen that I looked tired and maybe a little dehydrated (the sweat dripping down my face could have tipped him off). Before I knew it, he was handing me a cold bottle of water. That's customer service folks! I would highly recommend CubeSmart to any of my friends or family looking for a storage unit.

My review has gone from 5 stars to 2. No more recycling and trash dumper available is a GAME CHANGER. They also were charging me $361/mo for a 10x15. Ridiculous considering I found the same size for $144! I’ve been going here since 2006, and have never seen Cubesmart in this condition before. Get better!

Would strongly recommend that you look elsewhere. After 6 months you will get a price increase. In my case a 5*10 unit went from 163 a month to $263 a month, a $100 increase. They are well aware of how much of a pain it is to move your unit in response to a price increase and will take excessive advantage of that fact. Not an ethical increase, they are still renting units at the price I was paying. They disclose that they may increase the price after 6 months but never disclose how much. Bad buisness ethics, find another place

Do not miss the chance to discuss your storage options with manager Joan P Vaughn and General Manager Mike Rodgers. I have been working with them since April 2014 on a complicated 2-step move (which means 2-step storage as well). I am a "regular", until the move is over in November 2014. They are consistently efficient, offer service above and beyond the call of duty, and are also very wise and funny about the world of "stuff." (Yes, a sense of humor is important when moving and storing). The facility is clean and glitch free. CubeSmart should clone this amazing managing team. When my 2 step move is over, I plan to send both Joan and Mike some beautiful flowers. They deserve it! -- very satisfied customer.
