15% year over year rate increase for existing customers, almost double the new customer rate. When speaking to the manager about my concerns with this large increase I was told to pay it or vacate. I understand raising rates to keep up with inflation but this is dishonest and taking advantage of existing customers.

I have rented the storage unit for the last 3 years plus. The pricing started somewhere around $300 per month but was increased every year to be now $650. Not only is that an increase of over 100% over the small timeframe but when I checked your website, I found out that I could rent the same unit today for $329!!! Obviously, you do not care much about your existing customers, and I will make sure to let this fact known to whoever is in the need of a storage unit.

There is nothing special about this storage unit. So I gave them a neutral rating. I was annoyed about one thing. They change their “specials” so often that even if you are a week late in the arrival time you aren’t granted that same deal. I notified them of the late arrival date, they made no mention of the change in the agreement. The deal I ended up with had a lower rate for the first 3 months then it doubled.

This place has quite a bit of storage capacity and variety and is one of the few places that offers vehicle storage but I have to give it a bad review for its pricing. I currently have a 10 x 20 outdoor unit that I started renting exactly 1 year ago and in the span of a year they jacked my rent up twice! I went from paying approximately $165 a month to my new rent now going to be $290!!! I feel like they are trying to push me out so they can make space for all the moving companies that use the large outdoor units. Due to the increase I wouldn't recommend renting from this location as I used to have a unit at the parsippany location for almost 2 years and only had 1 rent increase there. Save your money and go somewhere else.

I have only been here for 5 months It took me 2 months to get them to not charge me for insurance, having sent them proof I had my own, they seem to have a problem with their eMail. Last week they raised my rent 27%, when I eMail to find out why, no response. When I called I was told they periodically raise the rent... PERIODICALLY? 27%. When I look online to see the current price, it's what I was paying before the raise... I guess you should plan on moving out and back in every 5 months or so...

I've been a customer at the same location for over 10 years. I left my account on autopay and after a few years realized (after 1-2 increases a year) my monthly rate was more than the rate for a unit twice my size. I suggest you review the bill every month, question the increases, and shop around as its a very competitive industry. Other than feeling taken advantage of, the facility is well lit and has always been clean.

Beware CubeSmart. Ask about the pricing history for the unit you are planning on renting. We saw a more than 100% increase since Covid. That's just opportunistic greed. Each time we received an increase notice, we tried to get help. Ultimately, the company personnel agreed off the record that the company is unfair but said that they couldn't help us.

The space was easily accessible, clean and climate-controlled. The staff that works at the front desk at the Whippany location are friendly and helpful. The rate that I got for the first 3 months was very reasonable. They even gave me a storage unit that was close to the entrance/exit door so that I didn't have to carry my items very far from the car to my storage unit. Very pleased with my experience at CubeSmart.

Just spoke to Brian regarding my unit. They decided to charge me even though I had moved out on prior to my renew date and informed them I was moving out by June 2nd. Apparently, I need to let them know again because they did not leave a note on my account when I had called on earlier and left a message. Someone called me back and informed them I was not renewing my unit and they never informed me I had to call again to confirm. Since, "I did not confirm with them a second time", they decided that they can charge me again. Brian was not listening and basically said I was lying that my story does not make any sense. He needs some customer service skills. I do not recommend this place at all based on this experience. This place requires you to have insurance and also requires you to have they own lock so there are extra costs to your unit. They also mentioned that they can raise prices at any given time with a 30 days notice so better luck at other storage units. Update: Jill from corporate reached out to me and made it right as Liz the GM said they instructed Brian to not charge me but did not follow instructions. I appreciate them refunding the charges and reaching to address the issue.

I have been renting a cube at this location for the past three years for work and I absolutely love it. The staff is wonderful. Both Nicole and Peggy went out of their way to make me feel like a truly valued customer. The units are clean and well maintained, as is the whole facility. The only thing I didn’t like, and the reason for the 4-star rating, was the number of surprise required add-ons that were not clearly outlined on the website when I made the reservation. By the time I was finished with paying for the lock (why???) and insurance (even though I didn’t want it), the first month was almost double the original quote. But what choice did I have at that point?

Let me preface this by saying that I literally had the WORST experience moving cross country from California to New Jersey back in December with a wretched moving company (Best West Movers) HORRIBLE y'all steer clear. Anyway, I had to put my stuff in storage while I transitioned here in NJ and found CubeSmart self storage. Since the movers had very specific requirements (i.e. accommodate an 18 wheeler, be on ground floor, spacious, etc) this location fit the bill perfectly. I worked with an AMAZING woman by the name of Peggy and let me just tell you, she literally made me feel like family from beginning to end. She assured me that she'd take care of whatever needed to be taken care of with the move day. She was so fair, held the unit for me and was so accommodating when I had to keep pushing the date out because the stupid moving company kept delaying my stuff - literally 30 days to get my things. Yep - 30 days. Anyway, I had many conversations with Peggy and Nicole both were incredibly helpful and empathized with my anxiety laden frustration with the movers. On the day of the move, I seriously couldn't have been more pleased. She took over and managed it and it all went so smoothly that I was able to relax on such a stressful day. The sign up process was fast, efficient, and flawless. I rarely experience such high levels of customer service these days anywhere, but their attention to detail, thoughtfulness of each customer's specific issue and ability to bend over backwards to help is just incredible to me. I would recommend this facility to ANYONE and everyone who needs storage. It's a beautiful space, clean, spacious, and fair rates. For what I got from here in value, the price is well worth it. Peggy is hands on and cares as if it's her own and quite honestly, it blew me away. It made up for some of my pain with the stupid moving company. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND CubeSmart of Whippany. Great, Great experience with the facility and management. The facility is conveniently located and is top of the line. Its a huge facility, with climate control (although there are some non-climate control if you don't want that) units and is really a top notch, well organized, clean facility. There are ingress/egress points to the building after you pass the security gates, which means your storage unit is always a close distance from where you park. Heavy duty metal rolling carts are always available at the doors and by the elevators to facilitate easy movement of heavy items. Management goes out of their way to ensure a great experience, especially at this location. Peggy, the GM is just fantastic and is always there to offer a water bottle or to offer help with moving supplies or a moving truck. The facility is always gleaming clean which is a nice feeling since I didn't want to store my stuff in some place I thought was dirty. When I called Peggy or emailed her, she was always immediately responsive. You see immediately that they truly get the value of customer service here. Which is almost mind blowing, since most places just seem to only go through the motions these days. Not here - Peggy and her team take it seriously and there is obvious pride in their management of the facility. I couldn't be happier. They were also flexible with me being able to change the size of the storage unit that I needed - to either go up in size or down in size - which that flexibility was great b/c I didn't realize how much stuff I had. I have had a great customer experience here and would recommend to anyone. My brother and I both have units at this location.

1 word, uhhhh-mazing. The blonde short lady was so nice and off the charts smart! Nicole also was very friendly and had a big ole smile on her face the whole time. I had such an enjoyable experience there, i forgot what i came to do! I am an extreme ironer and compete worldwide, sometimes we iron while mountain climbing. So i needed storage to hold all of my irons, after my boyfriend insisted he was tired of sleeping in a bed full of irons. i love these precious irons, and i had no qualms about putting them up in one of the smart cubes, which were so fresh smelling and clean to boot!

I highly recommend this CubeSmart. The moving blankets and mattress/couch covers are cheaper here than Home Depot. However, what made this experience off the walls fantastic was Peggy the manager, she was more than just helpful, I could really tell she cared. Not only was she the sweetest lady from South Dakota, but she was willing to really think through how to make my move as painless as possible! Peggy's customer service skills, completely rare to find in a person. I will definitely be coming back if I need another storage unit.

The service that the employees provided (Peggy, Jill and Nichol) was by far the best service I have ever received involving any type of transaction. Peggy was the first person I met and she assisted me the day I rented my unit. She was very knowledgeable about the type of unit that would best fit my need and it was an easy decision for me to make. The next day I met Jill and Nichol. I was running late and they were super busy, but the process of renting the truck was swift and easy. The leadership in that office has obviously carried down to the employees and they have earned a customer for life. If you find yourself needing a rental space, do not just go to anyone. Jill and Chris are two of the nicest people you can work with!!! This CubeSmart is clean, convenient, and well-managed. Getting to our unit (bang smack in the middle of the building) really isn't that bad of a trek, especially since this building conveniently provides heavy-duty carts to schlep your belongings. Liked how we were able to use CubeSmart's moving truck to move-in our initial items. If you need a place that will allow you easy access to I-287, this is your place!!!

The CubeSmart on Route 10 East in Whippany, NJ far exceeded any expectations that I had about self-storage facilities. I just "moved out" after having a unit for 18 months. The building and grounds were always immaculately maintained. Peggy, the facility manager, obviously takes great pride in her facility and in customer satisfaction. I have seen her chopping ice in the winter to ensure the safety of her customers and laying mulch in the spring to beautify the grounds while always smiling and taking a minute to say hello. She was an absolute pleasure to work with. Billing was flawless and the elevators, gates, and carts were always in perfect working order. I never had an issue. I have no reservations in recommending this facility to family and friends.
