While the front desk is helpful and polite I must say that cubesmarts company policy’s as a whole are nothing short of robbery. I recently had a situation in which I was behind on my payment so I tried to make a payment however I wanted to split the month I was behind payed that day and make the current payment due as of that day(not behind, however they wanted both payments at once and if I don’t pay by tomorrow they put an additional 110 dollar charge on my account, and I’m sure other hidden charges as well that will be coming to release whatever bullshit and allow me to get my items and close the account. I simply don’t understand how instead of working with a customer and taking payments to bring account current you would rather add charges to either force people into giving up thier items or getting one extra payment of $110. Because I can say with certainty now that I will be getting my things out of there and you have lost a customer over that so just thought I would share to show people that when they slip up and fall behind on one payment after years of loyal payments how they treat you. Good luck if you choose to get a storage unit from this company.

Front office staff was great and made it very easy to move out. Hilda helped me during move out and was super helpful and nice. I would also like to shout out Izzy. She helped me with a different unit, the unit belonged to my mom who passed suddenly. It was difficult to keep up with payments so Izzy gave me instructions on how to bid on the unit during auction which I did and won. Move out was a grueling process, & this was all happening during a very difficult time. I wasn’t always pleasant with her but she was with me, and very patient on top of that. I will never forget how she handled things with grace during such a hard time for me. If management sees this, please be sure to recognize her. She went above and beyond when she absolutely didn’t have to.

Today (7/24/2024), my wife and I visited the Cubesmart in Piscataway. NJ. We were greeted and attended to my Izzy and Hilda. They were professional in all sense of the word. This review is about 2 experiences that I had within the past week. One was with Kim and the other with Hilda. They are both assets to your company and I hope you recognize them for their excellent customer service. Both of them, for different reasons, helped to keep me as a CubeSmart customer. Not only did Kim give me knowledge on how the storage prices work, but she also did it with a lot of patience. She was professional, kind, and courteous which does not always happen in customer service. She took the time to explain to me what others did not. I feel much better knowing how the system works because I did not understand how I kept getting increases in my rent and why I was being charged more after receiving a promotion. Finally someone heard me and gave me answers! She deserves some kudos from this company. And Hilda was excellent! She went out of her way to make sure that I was able to make my payment. I was dealing with a very stressful situation, and Hilda's kind and compassionate manner kept me calm and reassured that everything was going to work out. And it did thanks to Hilda's help. This is not an exaggeration. Hilda was a Godsend for me last Tuesday and I pray that she finds favor when she needs it most. Thank you Hilda! Please honor these two ladies. They deserve it!

Pretty certain I’ll be switching facilities soon. Every few months my bill goes up & then I came to rearrange my unit today and had a few things to throw away - $200 a month and no garbage use for customers. I understand not having them in front but once paying customers get past the gates we should have access to toss things out. Instead I was told to travel back home with my garbage.

I picked this one for the good reviews and for a long term rental but somehow disappointed (already takes in consideration I emailed their CS w no response) - had code issue w second visit, resolved only after some wait and no explanation - rep and manager is not very responsive here and it’s hard to find someone on the phone - having issues w billing: I was supposed to have a promotion that didn’t went thru in the last step despite showing on the first form when I completed my lease and so I am being over charged. Feels ‘scam-y’ - hard to reach the office person, they never call back or communicate in writing - get a call confirming rate will be honored and billing will be fixed, sign a new lease..was told it would take couple days…30 days later and I am being overbilled again and no credit applied..and called 3 times within 2h and still no answer - so far only able to communicate in person and not why I picked a remote access location as I’ll be out of the country (To be continued)

Huge Rodent and Poop issues! Horrible experience with CubeSmart Self Storage at the 1518 S Washington Ave, Piscataway, NJ First, I want to point out we are very clean and organized people. We pay our year upfront so no issues there either! They have Huge rodent and poop problems as others have posted on here. This has been going on for quite awhile and its getting worse! The front desk keeps giving me the run around. My wife and I spent 6 hours removing all our items, sanitizing and mopping the unit that was super infested. Well, after all that work and throwing out a lot of my belongings the super infestation HAPPENED AGAIN. After we cleaned up the first time, we were willing to move on with our lives because we get it, sometimes things happen, but what started out as a few dropping here and a few dropping there is now out of control and dangerous...look at the pics..Im sorry but people should not have to go through this kind of inconvenience. We invested in more totes and plastic but those damn mice are getting through and destroying everything. I was told to go through my insurance. Excuse me, this is a claim on your insurance not mine! Front desk told me they will contact corporate and call me back but that never happened (twice)! I pay top dollar for your climate control and have let go of too much, both financially and with patience! There's more pics but too many to post. My main concern are for the health of other renters and those people that have kids that dont properly store the items that could potentially be in the same situation and not even know it!

My reason for the one star rating is this. I arrived at this location at 11:35am. I noticed a sign saying that the employee on duty will be returning at 11:45am. I had nothing to do so I waited. I finally gave up waiting at 1:05pm. I found that to be completely unacceptable and made me change my mind in renting from this location. Nothing against cube smart about units or price. The issue is with an employee that felt like they can do what they want because they are alone.

I had a unit for a little over a year and I believe they were Secure Space first. My unit was fine until about a month or two ago. Rats and or mice clearly were in my unit. I was able to tell by the droppings and ripped up things. The staff was friendly when I notified them of this issue. I was told to put an insurance claim in and I did but insurance does not cover damage or losses due to rodents. I unfortunately loss bags, clothes and shoes due to their rodent issue.

Great service but office hours are questionable. They are helpful when I needed to upgrade or downgrade unit size. I have no problem with there customer service. The office hours at the location I use state on the door Monday through Friday are 9:30am to 6pm and Saturday are 8:30am to 5pm. A few times I've arrived during the week (Monday through Friday) at 5:30pm or 5:45pm to make any changes or payments, I've been turned away due to the employee(s) have already clocked out for the day. This is a huge inconvenience to me and I'm pretty sure to others that don't get off work to 5pm on Monday through Friday. Being turned away when you clearly have enough time is questionable to me.

I recommend going somewhere else. The staff here is unprofessional. Last week I reported a female employee for not providing assistance with my storage unit. Today, another female employee was invading my private space and looking to see what I had in my unit.She made me feel very uncomfortable and her behavior wasn’t polite as she did this. The unit was transferred over to me in June and the the rate went up to $198. I only had the unit for about a month. That's not fair at all when the only reason I kept it was to make a personal relationship transition easier. Neither of us ended up keeping the unit due to the price increase. Also calling the phone number to the front desk with no response is a problem when you work all day and they close @ 6pm and you have 30 mins to get to their local to have much needed mandatory human interaction. The young lady that I've encountered there is not warm at all, she responds very robotic and make the experience somewhat uncomfortable; I have spoken to other customers. I have another unit we will see how this goes, hope my rating will change in the future.

Just found out that there was some sort of flood in the facility, after examining my wet items and finding mold on many of my items I called the facility and was basically told by the "manager" they are not obligated to report incidents and they are handling the flood issue as customers call and complain about damage items and if I didn't have insurance there was nothing they could do. SecureSpace was so much better find another place to rent and store your items!!!!!

I'd give 0 stars if I could. Had the same storage for years before they were cubesmart. Didn't get any promo for them buying out the company before. Still was with them for about a year even after they raised my rates and switched the locks on my units. I was a few days behind on the rent but that's no excuse for what they do. Got all my stuff out the next day. If that's what you do then do it without my 150+$ a month. Also the gate never works and when it does its always up. And my new car was hit in the parking lot by the plower in the winter. Cost me over 3,000 in damages.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The sign-up and move-in process was easy, as was the move-out (end rental) process. The place was clean, and they had various unit sizes available depending on your needs. I liked that there were very large units with indoor access gates available. There were plenty of large carts available for us to use to move our things in.

Horrible friendly and nice staff but came in with uhaul truck and the code to access or open gate was incorrect! Been here for one hour calling and apparently there is only one manager who will not answer the phone. I waited from 6:55 to 9 pm and no one was able to help. Now I will have to keep uhaul truck overnight be charged more money and my husband will loose a work day!!! Horrible.

I’ve had this storage for 6 months out of the six months the light outside my storage unit worked one month. Been asking every time I pay my storage fee about the light, I keep getting the same answer “we’re ordering it””, 5 months later after leaving a review about the light, I get a call that they will have it fixed in about 2 weeks, 3 1/2 weeks later I go to pay my bill, I ask about the light and they said” they’re waiting for an approval“ to fix my light after 5 MONTHS!!!?Really??? Looking for new storage this place is not worth the aggravation.

This was the easiest move we ever did, thanks to SecureSpace Piscataway. If you are moving and need a convenient location in central New Jersey to store your things, look no further. SecureSpace Piscataway is in the center of Piscataway, right off Route 287. Their units are wonderful: affordable, clean, spacious, and easy to access. We had a first floor indoor unit, but with the carts they provide and elevators the other units would work just as well. Most of all, the people in the office were so friendly and helpful. We had to make a few changes along the way and they were very flexible and responsive to our needs. We cannot thank them enough. Excellent location, amazing units, professional staff.

i saw the brand new building and decided to go check it out. Asia the manager greeted me and me feel welcomed! The office looked like a hotel lounge I though i was in the wrong office. She gave me a tour and told me all the features. Free WIFI,App that can be used to control gates and doors, extremely clean,cameras, and the entrances are covered so dont have to worry bout my stuff getting wet on bad weather days. Im definitely going back to rent there. Will recommend to friends and family.

I just moved to the NJ area from Upstate NY since we did not find a house in the NJ area, I looked into several storage units and this seemed to be the best one around. Reasonable prices, offered 1 month free, plus all units are climate controlled. We ended up getting a 10x20 unit which was the perfect size for us. Vince helps us and answered all our questions. I highly recommend this storage unit.

Vincent and David were both great. David contacted me via phone shortly after I reserved the unit I was interested in. Vincent provided me with a tour of the facility including the storage unit I was interested in. I found it very impressive the extent taken to minimize the spread of Covert 19 and/or any possible airborne vectors. The facility use of fans and humidifiers throughout the corridors is unprecedented. In addition, all the units are climate controlled. Even the large first-floor driveway accessed ones. The facility's use of 4-D video recording at a 'real-time' framerate is amazing. Everything is very clean. I was also very impressed with the storage unit's locking mechanisms (which are included within the rental agreement). The locks are 'state-of-the-art' and must be proprietary because I have never seen that type of lock & key set-up before. I leaned all this in a very short, easy-breezy style from Vincent. I feel very confident that my furnishings will be stored safely, soundly, and in a fashion that will prevent mold, mildew, and/or insects and vermin from infiltrating my items. Last but most of all, not in the least, the pricing is the most competitive I've seen in the area especially considering the state of the art facility, the ease of ingress and egress, and its newness.

My wife and I have been storing our household goods in a 10’ x 20’ box at the storage facility of a local competitor for almost two years now. We were persuaded there by the promotion rate and the reputation of that chain. However, after several rate increases and numerous issues, we decided to move our belongings. As a Purchasing Agent, I wanted to ensure that my next unit would be a wise investment. Upon completion of my research and analysis of nearly a dozen other local facilities, I “stumbled” upon Secure Space of Piscataway, NJ by coincidence. The online rate and unit availability was great. Because, we were unfamiliar with the chain name, my wife and I conducted an unannounced walk-through of the facility. We were both thoroughly impressed by the modern facade. From my understanding, the facility has only been open since March 2020, so it’s very new and currently the only one of it’s kind in NJ (other locations are in the planning). The facility is also very clean and well-lite! Depending on your needs, there are unique storage units to meet all your needs. They even have an outdoor, drive-up 10’ x 13’ that is climate controlled. For a discounted price, we chose an indoor upstairs unit. Property Manager, David, was so helpful and knowledgeable during the walk-through, I signed up on the spot. I look forward to storing my treasured memories at Secure Space and commencing a new professional relationship with David. Thank you!
