My daughter parked her vehicle there for her winter break from college as she was flying out of MSP. I spoke with a woman on the phone prior to the drop off day and she was so helpful. I would give this company a 0 if I could! I was robbed! I am extremely disappointed with the experience I had with this storage facility. My storage unit was robbed, and the customer service team failed to alert me until several weeks had passed. When I inquired about the surveillance cameras, they didn't provide any clear answers or assure me that the matter was being investigated. To make matters worse, I did not receive any apology or timely response regarding my unit being robbed. When I questioned how this could happen despite an access code being required, I received vague and unhelpful replies. I strongly suspect this may have been an inside job due to the sketchy management and employees. It's deeply concerning that such lapses in security and communication existed. Now, I am left waiting to see if my insurance claim will cover the loss of my belongings. This has been a thoroughly frustrating and disappointing experience, and I would not recommend this facility to anyone.

My unit was robbed and I haven’t heard from cube smart or my insurance company through them for almost a week. They didn’t seem to invested in watching the video surveillance to find out who did it. You have to have a code to even access the building so it was clearly someone that rents there or works there, and accessed the building within a 30 hr window.

UPDATE: They responded back to this review asking me to email them with my issues. I did so and was told that a District Manager would get back to me in 48 hours, but I have NOT heard from anyone and it's been almost a week! __________________ We have had a storage space with Cubesmart since November of 2021, but things were not very smooth in the beginning, and it's even harder for us now that we are leaving. So I am doing this review to give a big heads up to anyone thinking of using them. When we first got our locker, we were not able to get into it because someone wasn't in the office even though the sign said that they were open. Someone else was waiting outside the door as well as we were, because they were moving out and they couldn't get in. It took hours of calling different numbers before we were told that the person who was working just decided not to go into work and that it was the other person's day off. Next: they overcharged us in the first month and had to give us a credit,...and then a few months later hounded us with different people calling and telling us that we didn't pay for the month when we had. On every call we had to explain to a new person that we had paid by dropping our check into the payment box. Eventually they admitted that they had actually lost our check and we had to rewrite one but not before telling them that we were NOT going to pay the late fees that they wanted to charge us because it was late!! Not! After that fiasco, we paid for a year in advance so that they wouldn't increase our rent every few months, (WHICH THEY WILL)....but also so we wouldn't have to run the risk of them screwing things up if we paid month to month. Cubesmart also promises that you can use their moving truck free of charge (minus gas) when you first move in. When we first started renting with them we were told that we weren't able to use the truck because it was broken down. Every time we checked, it wasn't fixed...it wasn't fixed...it wasn't fixed. So we were told that because we weren't able to get the truck when we moved in, that we would be able to use the truck free of charge whenever we moved out. We were good with that...BUT, now that we are moving out, they are telling us that we can't have the truck as promised at no charge because you only get it when you move in. So the truck was broken down and they didn't have it for us to use as promised when we moved in and now they want to charge us for using it when we move out! We got a guarantee from TWO managers, both Ashley and Gigi, that when we moved in and couldn't get the truck, that we could have it when we moved out. Now the current manager Linda, won't follow through with what we were guaranteed by them. Linda is even saying that she doesn't know if the truck was even broken down then because she wasn't working there at the time. So, Cubesmart doesn't keep records of when their trucks are broken down and getting fixed??? If they don't keep those records for their business, what else don't they keep track of?? So bottom line....To anyone wanting to rent from this place, RENT AT YOUR OWN RISK! And make sure that you document everything that they promise you! Because apparently a verbal contract made by one, or in our case TWO managers, doesn't hold up if the current manager wasn't the one to tell you that! Unorganized and unprofessional to say the least! It will be a big relief to be done giving them any more of our money and needless to say we will not use them for any future rentals! Period. I would also like to add, that we even asked them if they would be willing to credit us some $$ back because now we have to go and rent a truck, but they wouldn't even do that. Then again, we are leaving, so why would they care now? Disappointed is an understatement.

The staff was really helpful and friendly the first day we reserved the unit. We also reserved a rental truck, they were really nice we were 10 minutes late on returning the truck. We really needed to rent the truck the following day but someone else had reserved it (they only have 1 truck), we only needed to make 1 run but they said someone else reserved it. They didn't have a time or anything. We called at 930am and would have only needed to make 1 run but because someone else said they were going to use it .. They said we couldn't. Now the problem is... The truck sat out there all day. We even went in at maybe 2pm to ask if the person is still coming to use the truck and if we can use it. They knew how far away we were and we told them it would be just one trip... But the lady said No because someone called and said they were going to use it... We tried to plead with her but she said No. No one Ever Came to rent the truck! We made 8 trips in my SUV that lasted until 7pm when we could have just made 1 trip at 10 am and been done by noon. So I'm giving 3 stars because they only have 1 truck and they have no system on reserving the truck. They should have at least called the person to see if they were still coming!!

I was very disappointed with the up-keep of the property and overall level of security. The lighting in the loading/unloading garages is very dim. There were frequently discarded clothing and housewares left in the loading/unloading areas and on the carts. The entrances to the loading garages, and loading dock ramps and stairs were not cleared of snow even days after a snowfall. On several occasions I encountered individuals who were using the facility for toileting and washing purposes.

Terrible system. Registered online. Got an access code after paying. Had a rented trailer and truck full of furniture from my deceased dad’s home that we had to vacate that day. Relatives helped, we hired help and they proceeded to stand/sit/at the gate for almost 3 hours. Called 800 number, got a new code. This didn’t work either. Called 3-4 times, each call would last 30 minutes or more. By the last calls we were given the same code that hadn’t worked the previous time. Finally left and purchased another storage unit, elsewhere. It was not enjoyable for one group of us standing at a gate, another group was cleaning house and trying to make calls back and forth to 800 number & for some it was the last day to enjoy each other’s company. Not one person in the several we talked with could get us in that gate. Bad vibes going though our family during this already difficult day/time!

If I could give a zero for this unit I would because they deserve it. 2 years ago the management at this unit were very professional and respectful. Now they will not pick up the phone unless your calling to ask how much it would cost to get a unit. If your calling to ask a question about your unit you might as well forget it. It is Saturday and there's no one to answer the phone. If your locking to rent on the 2nd floor just coz it's cheaper just be aware that they don't have an elevator. The unit we rented was not swept and they left a pile of dirt in the middle of the floor. I would find a different rental place the management here is full of it save yourself the stress and find a unit with management that actually come to the phone and care about their customers.

This place is terrible. There are never any carts, the loading door has pillars blocking you from pulling in all the way so you have to leave the door open making it super cold. The door into the facility closes literally 2 seconds after you enter the code making it difficult to get your belongings in to the building. The place is clearly not cleaned often. For the price they are charging, they should do better.

Great team! We were an off-site team opening a new store, and were not allowed to delivery directly to store. The Cubesmart team accepted all of our packages, placed them in our storage unit, and had seamless communication when we needed to have our GC, or team members not on the lease get into the unit. Seamless experience, and seamless end of contract.

The unit served its purpose and the employees were friendly. Access was easy, and rolling carts were always available. However, I was scheduled to move my stuff out on September 2nd. When I called to let them know, I was told that I was only paid through August 24th but that they'd just turn off my automatic payments and I could pay for the last week on the day I leave. I spoke to another employee when they called to let me know my payment was late who, when I explained the situation, said to do the same thing. When I left, I was charged a late fee despite talking to two different employees who literally advised me to pay "late," on the day that I moved my stuff out. I had never once paid late before that. The amount that I paid for that one week was over half of what I was paying for a full month because of the late fee. It is an affordable place so I won't lose sleep over it, but be sure to go over your final bill while you're still in the office.

Service was okay until move out. I was told we had to pay for a full months' rental, even though we removed our things the first day after the cycle began. We were told we would be reimbursed because we kept our account in good standing,no late fees, and it was the first day of the cycle. The day after we called about our reimbursement, the receptionist was rude and said we couldn't have it because we "left boxes". We showed her pictures of our cleaned area and proof that the people on their camera leaving things wasn't us. She said "it doesn't matter because I still don't believe you and you won't be getting a refund!, That's just how things go."

This is a convenient location, right off the highway. Love that it shares a drive with the gas station... feels safer and is easy to get snacks when working hard. Facility is pretty clean with very few pests. Staff are always friendly and helpful!!!

We have been renting our space here sense we moved last fall. Not only security coded building, but parking lot as well! Very clean and well kept. Their online services is second to none. You will find their prices above the average around town. Don't let that stop you renting with them! They have a huge selection of sizes. From a studio apartment to a car! Would recommended for any move!

Almost Perfect! Great value, accessible and convenient hours. Ben was extremely helpful and all around great to work with! So was another staff member who I didn't catch their name. The only downside was the third staff member I dealt with. She was thoroughly unpleasant. If I had to deal with her initially I wouldn't have used CubeSmart. Ben and the other staff member built enough goodwill that I'll keep using CubeSmart.

One of the ladies who worked at this self storage at the 3216 winnetka ave. location had below average cust. service. She may have been the main manager, I remembered that when I came in to set up an account, I was not thanked for my business. She also at times seemed like she tried to avoid me when she saw me.

The customer service. I didn't like the price hike, so I'll be moving out soon. But other than that, it's a great storage space!! This is a large storage business. I knew that everything in the economy goes up. That's inflation. But if your business is bleeding money so fast that you can justify rate hikes, then you don't know how to run a business. Do something about my rate, and I'll likely give you more stars.

Changing the code on us. Kicking my daughters dad out after I've added him to the account many times. Its like they don't have notes on their system. I called and theyre like we will have the manager call you back, pretty sure you're capable of helping me you don't need your manager for everything. Either way. The unit was clean and well patrolled. The outside area was pretty dirty from people dumping stuff and leaving it on the ground, not really CubeSmart's fault. I thought the walking areas by the doors were icy and not well maintained this winter. The price was good when I signed up but the next month it went up $13 for no reason.

This place is clean, well lit, and there's a super convenient covered loading dock and carts that made move in day a breeze!! The staff are very friendly and helped me with my last minute need for a unit. The garage doors for the units give maximum access and make loading and unloading easy.

Very convenient, right off 35w and 98th St. Not too expensive either compared to other storage units with climate control. The staff was friendly and they provide locks ($20) if you don't have your own. The place itself is locked and you need a pin code to get in. You can pull up with your car into the garage and have a roof over you when unloading, so that's nice of it's raining or snowing. Overall, I'd recommend this place and would come back if needed.

While staff were friendly, we saw regular increases of our monthly fee and I would NOT call them modest. Often times received with only 21 days or less notice. They had us at a disadvantage and used it. If you plan on storing here, be sure you REALLY shop around as the best rate is NOT via the site and have a backup plan!!

The workers at this location are extremely rude and don’t own up to their mistakes! I was scheduled to use the moving van on a Sunday from 11:30am-3:30pm which the worker told me the van is available in 4 hour blocks. I get to the store on time and I’m told the appointment was for 11:00am-2:30pm and if I didn’t have it back before the store closed at 3:00pm I would lose my deposit. I was moving from Saint Paul, MN to Bloomington, MN which there would be no way I could do that in 3 hrs/30 mins so that extra hour was crucial. The worker didn’t apologize or try to compensate me for giving me the WRONG time, and said that it was my fault even though my mother was there to witness the 11:30-3:30 time I was originally given 1 week prior. She also told me I was welcome to use uhaul and that I did t have to use their truck as if the situation already wasn’t an inconvenience with my time now my money as well. The whole situation was horrible because a uhaul near me wasn’t available until 4:00pm that day. So instead of getting done with moving by 3:00pm I didn’t pick my truck up until 4:00pm and wasn’t done until 8:00pm so my day was all ruined. Nonetheless we finished the move and everything fit in my unit.

Never received a spot in 2017 (after being on a wait list for 7 months) so in May 2017 put my self on a wait list for 2018. Went there in early April to confirm a spot. Not surprisingly I wasn't on a wait list- though I was asked if I put in in the computer (?!) Kinda thought that was their job. But my hopes were bouyed with the manager said if I could wait until May he could release one of the spaces that they plowed snow into. Perfect!! I didn't need in until the weekend of May 5 so we agreed all was set. Until May 6 .. when I went in to confirm again the space was available and I was told it had not yet been cleared by the corporate office- but they would try on monday (first business day). So, on monday I hadn't heard so I went in yet again only to hear that the person at corporate was out of office for another week. Try again on the 11th..... which meant leaving my trailer on the street for another week. Cue- city of Bloomington citation in my mailbox. I went back on the 11th only to hear the spots had been cleared and given to other people. And to add insult to injury the manager (who is never there) claimed that he never promised me the spot (to his employee who relayed that to me). He not only did, he did it in front of 2 other employees. what a clown show. Don't waste your time with this outfit. This is the service I get after having being a upstanding client for several summers prior to 2017. Move on- I did (I had to ). Gopher Outside Storage in Lakeville is super easy to deal with and they can get you in right away.

Ok, lets start off and say that it is my fault for not keeping up with the monthly fee, but that is not the whole story. I have rented a unit coming up to 3 years. During that time my monthly rate kept going up with no notice. I did ask and all they told me was that I had been notified of the increases, however they could not tell me how I was notified. No notification EVER came across my desk. Now at one point, I got behind my payments and was able to get caught up before the unit went to auction. I was told that my lock was most likely still there. Now I didn't have the time to check but when I went back a couple of days later, my lock was gone and theirs was still there. When I went into the office to ask that it be removed so i could get in the person behind the desk refused to do so and I was never allowed back into the unit. The expectation was that I still paid their overpriced fees with no access Again I got behind and went into pay the past months being told that the unit was already sold and that I was sent Certified Letters. No certified letters ever came and i expect that none were ever sent. Just something they said to pacify me. BEWARE OF THIS LOCATION. I had noticed after the first time I fell behind, they had my wrong information. As an example the phone number they had was not mine and I have no idea whose it was. I would guess they do this so that way they can claim they had contacted you for increases and or issues.

These folks are great! We needed quick access to a storage locker after a minor tragedy. My wife contacted CubeSmart, and they had a locker reserved for us before we finished loading the truck. When we arrived - the paperwork process was quick and easy, and we were unloading into our new locker in 10 minutes. The people are friendly, the hours are very convenient and the rates are surprisingly competitive! Thank you CubeSmart - You help salvage a chaotic weekend.

We utilized a 10x20 storage unit for about 3.5 years while we moved several times, and combined two households during the process. The facility is terrific, and very convenient. However, they are apparently booked to capacity, since they repeatedly raised our rates (a lot!), eventually forcing us to vacate the facility and end our lease. We probably would have remained as tenants, but the increased rates became difficult to justify.

Friendly employees. They called me the morning I intended to start storage with them to make sure I didn't lose my hold. It was easy to get set up with the locks conveniently located right there for you to buy. Insurance was a simple signature, and I was able to store my items with them without incident until I got a bigger place. It's nice that it's enclosed for extra security with cameras everywhere and personalized door and gate codes.

I have been a customer for over 4 years, but they don't care about keeping your business. They have a clean, well-lit and safe indoor storage space. However they will take you through the ringer when it comes to bills. There have been a few rate hikes in the last 4 years but nothing more than $10 at a time which is perfectly reasonable. However this month when I go to check my bank account I saw that instead of my usual $117 autopay charge they took out $182! I tried calling the number on my emailed receipt and got no answer. I then tried to call the Cubesmart corporate group who transferred me back to the store and I had to sit and wait on hold while the hold-advertising was bragging about how great their customer service was. After calling corporate back, I got a nice lady who politely told me that there was a rate increase and offered to email the manager of the store and have her call me back by the end of the day. I still didn't have any answers about why my bill was inexplicably and without warning over 50% bigger. I waited for 24 hours and never heard from the manager. I finally called Cubesmart back and was immediately transferred back to the store to speak to the manager who just told me that she was too busy and didn't have time to call me. There are 1100 units and I'm not the only one who needs help. Look, I'm sorry that you're understaffed but that's not my problem as your customer. She just tole me that there was a rate increase and and that was it. She said that I didn't get an email because when I signed up online I didn't check the box that said I was ok receiving their emails (although I've been receiving my emailed receipts just fine) so obviously they could have emailed out that there was going to be a rate increase of 50% before just taking the money out of your bank account without so much as letting you know they were going to do it. Going from $117 to $182 without telling your customers and then not offering any way to make it right is not ok. You have lost long term customer. I am canceling my storage unit and will be going to another company.

These folks are always pleasant. And if you don't value a drive-in, heated space to park, you don't live in MN. There place is always clean & tidy and the hours have always suited my schedule. They also have a free moving truck available for move-in (with just one, be sure to coordinate with staff). They also have a cool jukebox in the customer service area. If all this sounds typical and expected, you haven't seen some of the competition in the area.
