This place is horrible I rented a unit from here first they tried to tell me they couldn’t find my reservation I made online because they didn’t want to honor the price they he gives me a unit all the way in the back so he tricked me into getting a bigger unit that I did not need say it’s only 13 dollars more fast forward 2 I have a price increase for 30 dollars when I was told verbally it would not be an increase until the 5th month I asked to speak to the store manager he called me back to do nothing about the situation you all have terrible customer service And no one should use they place because that’s all they do is LIE.

The location at Diversey is by far great with the help of the two employees, Alex & Chris. They are what makes this location pleasant. Myself and my brother have several storage units there and my brother being hearing impaired, Both Alex and Chris always makes sure they he is taken care of. Awesome ?? They only issues I have is the increase cost of the units, especially for us loyal customers.

I have been a customer since they opened and the rent is ridiculous it's dirty ,stained carpet. Insurance is garbage . Lock was taken off no one has a clue had to buy another ,they don't care . It's changed so much but rent is like every 6 months no incentive or promos for loyal customers . I will be looking for another storage company that appreciates to help business

I rented a unit online. Which was easy . I received an email with instructions about my unit. The next day (July fourth) I packed a few things and headed to storage. The garage space is clean , they have Dollies to use and the elevator is pretty huge . The only issue was that once I packed everything into the car and then into the dolly and made my way to the fourth floor . I found my unit. It didn’t have the temporary combination lock or hang tag the email mentioned . It had a yellow lock that needed a key. To which I didn’t have. I ended up dragging my things back downstairs and into my car . And needed to call it quits being that I had nowhere to put my things in . That was an inconvenience, especially being that it was almost 90 degrees. I did call the number in the email but no luck. Im going to try again today . This is an added comment: the next morning I did have two separate managers get I touched with me and they were really nice and apologized. I did end up showing up the next day and was able to get in. The parking garage is huge as well for those who have moving trucks. And it’s a pretty clean storage unit/building

PROS: In general, the 4100 W. Diversey location is clean and well managed, carts are in good order and available, loading dock is easy to access, and elevators run well. But -- when I can get a hold of him -- Alex the manager makes this place a step above. He is always personally very professional, friendly and helpful, making us feel like we are dealing with a real person! He even courteously extended our check-out date when we misplaced our key. CONS: Our rugs, stored for almost 4 years, were infested with some kind of carpet beetle. The racket they run with constantly jacking up your rate is near highway robbery, but all storage unit companies do that. And, unfortunately, the office doesn't seem to keep regular hours and on several occasions no one was there.

Manager acts like a teenager. People live in this storage and no one does anything about it. Apart from that i was charged 40$ for leaving a tiny box meanwhile other people piss on the ground and leave food in the floor. Yet has the audacity to say “wE ChArGe EvRyOne”. On top of that i wasn’t even contacted about the charge but my father was. I’m a grown man??. Yeah how bout you check your cameras and charge the people leaving this trash here. On top of that i had something stolen here while i was unloading… where was your cameras THEN?! I was told it isn’t their job to clean after us… then what is your job? I don’t see them doing anything around here but be racist. He also threatened to close my account because of a tiny box. WHATEVER POSITIVE THING YOU READ ABOUT THE MANAGER AND STAFF ITS FAKE??

Clean safe spot with decent hours. Only a few times did I not find a cart on the loading dock. Or the freight elevator wasn’t shut by another tenant. Raised the rent by $40 and ultimately I had things stored I really didn’t need anymore and could have sold and replaced for less money.

Great and amazing. Really quick set up for a new unit. We did it over the phone and when we went in our unit was ready. Staff is also really helpful and friendly. Place is clean. ——————————————— Update as of 5/30/24 Building is FILTHY. I’ve seen dead rats, bottles of piss, just random garbage, spilled drink, all of it. There is no garbage so you can’t throw anything away so renters just leave their garbage lying around, which is NEVER picked up. I’ve seen a dead rat in the corner of the 2nd floor for 4months straight, in the same spot. Even worse is they CONSTANTLY increase the cost of rental without ANY improvements to their facilities. This is the 3rd notice I’ve received in the last 7 months of rent increase. My unit started at $130 now it’s $181

I'm leaving a review for my mom and my brother because for some reson there reviews are not showing ... they've rented a storage unit at the cube smart on diversey and had furniture in there for about 5 years ... recently we went to check on our stuff and move things around and found what looked like a bed bud infestation on our couches ... the bed bugs did look dead but we ended up throwing everything away any way ... the storage blames us saying we brought them but we never had bed bugs in our house and we still dont ... 5 years of wasted money and this conpany wont take responsibility.....

Diversey in chicago for 5 years he went there not to long ago to check his belongings and to his surprise he found bed bugs on his couch he talked to management and they refused to take accountability for this so he got rid of the majority of our belongings 5 years of wasted money that's a shame your company will not take responsibility for keeping a dirty storage facility

It was great at first but then the constant rent increases, the dust from the carpet removal of the facility that entered into the units, and always having one of the loading gates broken was to much for me and was frustrating. Never being able to get a hold of the manager via phone call, store hours posted on the door never matched actual times for customers for customers to speak with manager or employees. It was just a lack of customer service all around for the amount being paid. This place is always dirty with only one elevator avaliable if someone forgets to close the freight elevator from the floor it was previously opened on. Not enough dollys to wheel stuff in and out of units.

I went today to my unit and noticed that my lock was gone and it was ransacked my wife needs to go see what’s missing informed the employee he said lock was on 3 days ago well asked him to see the cameras was told it would take to long . And was forced to buy another lock .I just told your employee my unit was broken into and to investigate would take to long ? I’ve been a customer since 2017 .totally outrageous didn’t even tell me what I need to do to file a claim nothing . I pay $200 a month and you guys disregard the fact someone is breaking into the units . And its too much work to check your cameras .well I guess it will have to be done when I contact the Insurance company .

The GM was very condescending when I called to ask about a shipment. Apparently the manager I booked my unit with (Chris, very nice) was wrong when he told me that a pallet could be delivered without my presence and that they, CubeSmart, would call when it arrived so I could unload it. The GM kept talking over me though I was explaining that the only reason I booked with them was because of that fact, which I explicitly asked about before booking. I eventually had to yell at him to get him to stop speaking over me, something I don't like to do but necessary in this case. I am canceling my reservation for the unit and getting a refund since I never moved in as the shipment was rejected.

We all know how stressful moving can be. My wife and I had to move our belongings in a short time frame. We went to CubeSmart on Diversey and Pulaski in Chicago and Alex, the General Manager was there to greet us! He was extremely helpful with our storage/moving needs and understood exactly the stress we were facing. Alex was very knowledgeable of the facility, its capacity, and identified what worked best for us based on the amount of items we had and the move-in date. He provided a tour of the facility to show us several options/availability, and also ensured our property were safe and secure. He was very nice, professional, and provided excellent customer service. Not to mention, the facility was very clean! The rental process was also easy and everything went smooth. Facility was great, but when I wanted to change to a smaller unit I was told the listed price online was only for new customers. I no longer needed as big of a space and to pay as much as I had been, so decided to move to a different storage facility since the rates were too much at Cube Smart for size I wanted. I gave it some time after move out to calm down. But in essence here it is. I have a unit with my brother in law for our business on the 4th floor. Cheap rates and they let in alot of displaced people that live in there after the store closes gotten into arguments here with them they are checking to see if units were left open. Also the garage door is always broken. Staff are great, there isn't much they can do though just be aware if you rent from here.

This is my second time getting a storage and the manager Alex was very friendly and he carefully explained everything to me and took me for a tour. The place was very clean. Also gave me great deals. Need a storage? This is the place to go!

The place was easy to find and the check in process was quick and painless. The storage unit is clean with ample of space and multiple options to choose from, I was also able to upgrade my selection on runtime. The one drawback was the costly lock that I had to purchase for the unit (regular lock doesn't work). But overall it was a great experience and I am happy to choose them for my needs.

This place just saved me. I went last night to get my boots for winter, and didn't realize I dropped them on the way to the car. I called this morning, and the guy went to go check the halls to see if they were still there. Lucky for me, they were, and they'll be holding them until Saturday when I can pick them up. I am SO GRATEFUL. I can't say enough about how great the staff has been. Thank you!

Excellent service. I will not go to anyone else now. The service team was kind and had a good sense of humor, the building is well designed (moving is hard anyway, it’s great when the building makes it easier). Lots of carts, good elevators, clean space...I have absolutely no criticism. Glad I found this place!!

I highly recommend this place! The facilities are clean, well maintained and the staff was very helpful. I had to modify the rental date due to circumstances that did not depend on me. They were understanding and very accommodating. Great communication, excellent value for the price.

New facility!!! Very clean, safe, I was quite amazed. The employee that checked me in 45 min prior to closing was excellent. The informational tour was a life saver. The new staff is not so great and helpful, is always failing in the storage and the elevator smell like a big toilet, everything is dust or dirty, and the elevator and door don't work, they let weird people rent there I'm just tired that's why I close my account.

Bill was insanely funny, super nice and extremely helpful. He answered every single one of our questions and was not hesitant to go above and beyond to ease our doubts. The facility itself is beautiful (we visited 4 other ones and none came close). Everything is brand new and climate controlled.

It's a new storage facility in the old Marshall Field Warehouse. Everything is massive, the ceiling height, the loading/unloading area, and the freight elevators. It's the nicest and cleanest storage place I've ever seen. Was helped by Bill Andres, who was very thorough in explaining everything. It's obvious he cares about the building and making sure the entire process is trouble-free.

This place is clean, bright, easy to use and climate controlled so I don't have to worry about humidity in the summer or the cold in the winter. The unloading area is inside a big garage large enough for three cars. And to top it off, it is priced to be VERY competitive to other storage outfits. If you have to store stuff, I would recommend this place!! I moved from another storage place close by because it was so much better.

This is a clean place. The staff is helpful. My husband was putting luggage in storage and forgot his key. The manager let him put the luggage in the office until the next day when he would be able to return. When we call every one is always helpful and very knowledgeable about helping you to figure out how much space you may need and giving you ideals; and we notice that when you come to your storage area they check to make sure that every thing is ok. I highly recommend Cube Smart storage if you have storage needs.

As anyone living in Chicago knows, storage is a must when living in a big city. That normally means over priced units, in old buildings. This not only applies to many apartments throughout the city but also the storage units we come to rely on. After years of over paying for storage at a facility that didn't value me as a customer, I was happy to stumble upon Cube Smart on Diversey Ave. Located inside the old Marshall Fields Warehouse and directly next to the new Cermak Produce, this facility is in a prime location. Besides being in a great location, the facility is brand new. Just opened in November 2016, and is in incredible condition. My wife and I have been welcomed with opened arms by Bill the General Manager and his staff. Bill has taken time out of his schedule to get to know us personally. He has said hello recognizing us by name, and has even waved goodbye when we leave the facility. It may seem like something small, or non important to some, but to use its customer service and hospitality you just don't get very often these days. Sure it's just a storage unit, but to feel welcomed and valued is important when you have many places to choose where to spend your money. It in turn makes us respect Bill, the facility and the company that much more. I highly recommend Cube Smart on Diversey Ave to anyone looking for storage in the city. The pricing is incredibly competitive, and as already mentioned the facility is brand new. Located on the far west side, it may be a commute for some, but I strongly consider you call Bill and take a visit. Once you do I can promise you, you won't regret it. Truly a hidden gem in the city.
