It is not climate control at all! only for the office staff. A specific Staff member will deny clients access to the bathroom and say that it is out of order. He would bad mouths the clients if asked why isn't the bathroom accessible at all hours up to the 10p.m. limit. He stated that people are nasty! This was my experience. I had complained to the CEI and there was never an apology nor a reasonable explanation of accessibility to the bathrooms at any time.

My experience with the storage would've been five stars, if I'd had instructions on how to enter the facility, the storage itself, I spent two hours trying to open the unit, it took another customer to explain tome and help me in the last twenty minutes before closing, there was no outlet to charge my phone, and while calling to get assistance my phone died and ordered another storage accidentally causing me to lose our on an additional sixty dollars that's non refundable because I'd to continue registration.

I have had many issues with mice in my storage unit in the Shippan location over the past year. Management has not been cooperative with helping to resolve this issue. It's unacceptable for the amount that we pay and the price keeps going up!!!

I just paid for a storage unit in Shippan Ave, Stamford, CT to move stuff in tomorrow. The man in charge of that store just called me to question me about the family member I put as a contact and whatever I'm planning on doing with things that I'm moving in. This was a very awkward moment. Completely uncalled for and made me feel really uncomfortable. The man was the most inquisitive and disdainful I ever encountered. I find no reason to treat a customer like this and if I could give this review zero stars, I would definitely do it. I asked to speak to a manager or someone who sees customers with the respect we deserve, and he said "someone" would call me soon... so I'm still waiting for that call.

While my storage unit was not the cheapest local option, its location in Shippan was very convenient. Any time I needed to add or remove items from my unit, there were always carts available and elevators ready to take me up to the 4th floor. The building was clean, climate controlled and I never felt uncomfortable at any hour of the day.

The storage location is excellent on one of the main streets of the Shippan area. I'm not too fond of storage facilities in the middle of nowhere as it is unsafe to be there at night. The staff are friendly and supportive. The storage facility is well maintained.

I have read the reviews here, but my experience at Cube Smart at Shippan Avenue was horrible! The receptionist, a tall, medium built white senior man who gave me his name as Mike, was extremely disrespectful. When I asked if I could discard a empty Styrofoam coffee cup in the wastebasket of the office- because I wasn't able to find any trash disposal- he immediately replied by saying," Why don't you keep it in your car or go outside to the dumpster!" I also asked why the bathroom is locked," he yelled, saying, "Because people are nasty!" I was shocked and told him not to yell at me. I reported the incident to the district manager, and I also asked the district manager as to why the bathrooms are not accessible for us customers whenever we need to just go and use it at any time. They keep it locked, and you have to ask for a key. I had a storage facility at UHAUL before Cube Smart, and that company kept the bathrooms accessible to us customers 24/7, and it was immaculate. She replied by saying that it is a safety issue. Really! like how can it be a safety issue if we have codes to enter the facility. It doesn't make sense when there are cameras all over the place, and we can only access the facility by entering a code. I am waiting on a brand new storage facility to open up so that I can terminate my business with Cube Smart!

I wish I could recommend this storage spot but my wife and I had a terrible experience. After driving 2,000 miles over four days and reserving a space, we arrive on a Monday afternoon with no one in the office. We could not even get anyone on the phone. Their virtual chat resulted in us having 30%+ higher fees for storage. Avoid if you can!

Either pricing or online advertising is UNFAIR and WHIMSICAL. For a 6 x 10 x 8 unit, I have been paying $237.73/month (that includes tax and protection) for 4 months. I was told that it was high demand time when I started to rent compared to now (early Fall). I get that. Here is the problem. It is Four (4) months later and just today I received a notice that price would increase to $267.24 (includes tax and protection). And, also today, there is an advertisement for this same location and for same size unit...price is $199 without the promotion. I think this should be the base for what I should pay. Add protection and tax...should add up to around $225 TOTAL This is UNFAIR PRACTICE. Whimsical pricing BEWARE. I have no complaints about the spaces, the cleanliness, or desk staff.

I write this review to encourage those interested in this storage complex to move forward and sign up ASAP. When I first toured the facility I knew it was the best place I could rent from and this was last year when I first made this wonderful decision. Since then I’ve received nothing but top tier customer service from the manager Rick Smith who is attentive, helpful and goes above and beyond to make my experience at CubeSmart the greatest. I could go on forever talking about how great the facility and Rick have been but rather then tell you I recommend experiencing it for yourself. As for the facility itself it was built less than 3 years ago it still has that brand new feeling and it clean as well as maintained as if the grand opening was yesterday and the prices are fair.

I was looking to transfer from Public Storage on the other side of town to Cube Smart. I spoke to Sabrina and told her what I was looking for and what I currently have at the other facility. I told her what I was paying and she told me she couldn't help me or price match. You're going to lose a customer over 9$ difference. Seems really horrible and horrible customer service. Just about all storage places jack the rate after the promotional rate, this one went up by about 50% after 6 months. I should have moved out then. The location/building itself is fine, And the most convenient if you live in the Shippan area- just hope you never have to deal with the on-site management. Two of the nastiest people around. The manager Rick is one of the unfriendliest, rudest, most thin-skinned people I've ever met and encountered in my personal or professional life. After 2 and 1/2 years as a customer and over $4,000 in rent, I recently moved out. I discovered a lock that I had unknowingly paid for (they stick it in the unit) when I had moved in that I never used or took out of the plastic packaging. It got buried in the unit during the frenzy of moving in. Rick immediately got nasty when I asked if he would credit my account for the $18 (for a lock that they still sell on the wall for $20 now). Asked me for a receipt, which I obviously don't have after 2 and 1/2 years but he could easily pull up in his system - but he refused to. Then told me to give it to someone as a Christmas present. Then he accused me of being belligerent because a couple of days earlier I made a comment (without yelling screaming calling names, etc, just made the comment) that one of the reasons I was moving out was that the place frequently did not have carts available and should have more than four carts for the entire facility. In the heat of the discussion (after he got snarky and condescending) I called him an a-hole. Absolutely wrong of me. And probably wrong to even expect the $18 back after 2 and 1/2 years. However, this is a perfect example of what's wrong in today's society - horrible business practices, and now made a lifelong anti-customer out of me - and I will share my negative experiences with everybody else. Over $18. I have storage units in several other states, both business and personal. Never been treated this poorly.

I am happy with the Unit. the only problem is they gave me a unit where the lock mechanism doesn’t work. They told me I have to step on the door I and jiggle it many time. I have had to go downstairs to get someone else to help me. I asked to be moved to a unit where the lock mechanism worked or fix the mechanisms but they won’t do it so until they fix the lock mechanism I will be asking the person at the desk to help me get my unit locked.

Rob was great at helping me identify the right cube for the right price. My area was always accessible, the air conditioning was great (which while lugging things around in the hot summer was much appreciated). Then when I moved out, I didn't really have to do anything. One of the guys in the garage saw me putting stuff away, confirmed my unit, and that was it. I left - no paperwork or checks or signoffs. And we've been at Uncles Bob's and Life storage before. I'm not sure about other Cube Smart locations.... But this one next to West Marine in Stamford get's my two thumbs up for the the staff particularly. Not that we have to interact with them for the most part. But when we did.... they where so pleasant... almost refreshing quite frankly...

Rick, on site manager was excellent to deal with. For the first time in my life I lost a set of keys. All others were easily replaced. However, I had my storage locker key on it. During Covid-19 I contacted Rick and made arrangements to meet him in person. He was able to drill out my old lock and, for $20, replace it with a new one. This was great service. Thanks Rick.

Moving into a new property combined with getting a mortgage together is one of the most stressful things I've ever experienced. It's very rare during this process that I've gotten to take a breath and relax. My visit to CubeSmart did just that. Their manager Rick Smith took excellent care of my fiance and I. He immediately calmed us down with his humor and years of experience, he never failed to answer any of our questions. The office was so inviting and clean especially during these COVID-19 times. The facility was visibly well designed and in tip top shape, best storage facility I have seen to date. We feel our belongings will be very secure in this location . A high quality facility with excellent service thanks to Rick will definitely have us coming back.

I chose this place because the location was convenient and the price per square foot was the best in town. I was pleasantly surprised that it is also better than three other storage places I have used in the past. It is a relatively new facility, so everything is in great condition. Both Danny and Rick are extremely helpful and friendly. Sign up for rooms is relatively quick, closing out a room was super fast, and emails are answered almost immediately. Whenever I see all five star reviews, I'm skeptical, but this place deserves it.

Cubesmart on Shippan Ave in Stamford is not only the cleanest and most conveniently accessible storage facility I've ever used but the management team of Rick and Danny are extremely helpful and courteous. Everytime I visit my unit the quality of service and warm greeting I receive from Rick in addition to his eagerness to help puts the storage experience I've had with Cubesmart far and above all others. I would highly recommend storing with them and could not express how much of an asset Cubesmart has in their team at this facility.

I had a great experience putting my stuff in storage at the Shippan Cubesmart location. Rick was awesome and super helpful! He was very flexible and had great suggestions for how we could set up the truck/garage door/etc. to make our move as easy as possible. The space was clean and and easy to access. I went on a weekday morning, so basically had the place (elevators, loading dock, etc) to myself. Overall I was very happy with this storage location.

Incredible Service and conviently placed near highway and in Stamford. I was assisted by Rick and he was nothing but thorough, helpful and amazing. Convenient storage place that’s close to 95. Easy access and unloading as you can back your truck right up to the elevators. The place is also really clean as It’s been opened less than a year. Anthony made the process of getting setup really easy and fast. He was thorough and able to answer all our questions. Go here if you need somewhere to store some stuff.

We really had a great experience throughout our moving process. The customer representative at Cube Smart Self Storage, Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT was very help full. He was very patient and clearly explained all the steps and procedures. This has made us more confident and helped us to reduce our anxieties during the moving the process. The free move-in truck also reduced our moving-in cost and made the whole process very customer friendly. I would definitely recommend this storage facility to others!!!

Don’t be nervous or apprehensive about leaving your storage here. This storage facility is well managed very clean, ventilated and safe. The small staff, at this location consists of two people Danny & Gabby. They’re professional, helpful and polite. I wish I had found CubeSmart sooner. I booked online and as soon as, I received my confirmation number. I received a call from Gabby, who make sure everything was correct for my move the following day. The best thing is that they give you the first month free when you rent a storage space from cubesmart. This helps a great deal on those first month moving in costs and helps to ease into your new monthly bill that you are incurring for yourself. I just moved from one cubesmart location to this one because it is much closer to my home and the transition was painless and a lot of the details were very easily transferred from the existing account to the new one. The facility is brand new and sparkling which I love. I also like how I can drive right into the loading dock and be inside the building which will come in useful during times when it is after hours and I know that I can be secure in the building.

We recently moved over from Extra Space Storage because this facility was closer to our location. The new building, climate controlled units, and access make it much easier for us to come and go as we please. Danny Lugo (the onsite Manager) made the transition so smooth for us and honored the pricing for all of the units we took. I stop in their office to talk with him and the other staff members every time we are there. We highly recommend this location for all of your storage needs. Clean, new, and price friendly.
