Used Cubesmart during summer for College Storage. The last week of August, my daughter stopped in the office multiple times and no one was available to close account. She waited in the office on the last day of the month, called multiple times, I called, I emailed and never received a call back. Days later they replied to an email and charged me for the entire month of September despite their lack of accessibility.

Layout of the facility is excellent; storage rooms on the second floor are easy to access with the smoothly operating lift. Common areas are very clean and well-maintained. On-site Manager Shayla treats new and returning customers courteously and helpfully, setting up accounts and storage units, or taking care of any concerns, smoothly and efficiently. This is the best self-store facility I have ever used.

They will continously raise the storage fee. If you need longer than 6 months rental do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. The customer service is nice. The building is always clean. The store hours are convenient, but it is not guaranteed to be in store when you need them.

We have our car parked in the facility and Mike was the person who handled our process. It was very professional and smooth. When we returned from trip, the tornado knocked the power out of Hamden region, the keypad was not functioning at all. With two families trapped in the RV and heavy rain, we called the customers service a couple times and told they could not do anything until power resumes. We kept calling and got connected with Mike again, he came over from 1.5 hours away in the dark, together we found the emergency exit and got our car, and drove another 2 hours to get home safely. Much appreciated! Definitely recommended and much thanks to Mike.

This is the best maintained, cleanest, most well-managed storage facility I have ever used. Reasonable pricing, well-built facility, secure site, convenient location, courteous office manager. I used one of the huge 10x35 drive up units here, which are hard to find. I appreciate that the building these units are in has very tall ceilings so that heat has somewhere to go. My unit did not get excessively hot during the summer, which also prevented from having any condensation issues. I found the value for cost at CubeSmart to be excellent.

Just rented a storage unit from CubeSmart from Tichina. I reserved a 5x10 online and then received a call within 24 hrs from the manager Tichina. She was knowledgable, friendly, and focused. I recently had to lease a storage space, I selected Cubesmart on Sherman Ave. in Hamden, CT. At first thought I was thinking this would be similar to a visit at DMV. I was pleasantly surprised when I went in to begin the process. Tichina Williams was the most pleasant and so thoroughly efficient in going through the process, it was unbelievable. I can't say enough about how Tichina went through every option of rental/lease, products available and explained everything in a manner in which I understood. Tichina was attentive to our needs and during the process the phone rang several times, but she didn't take the calls and continued focusing on the customer in front of her. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. Tichina made this experience so very pleasant.....

It is a nice and clean facility. I was happy to get the "up to 6 months special" rate for a 10'-10' unit on the 2nd floor. The check-in process went smoothly. Shar was very efficient and kind. She walked us to the unit before the check-in to make sure we'd have enough space and explained to us how to operate the freight lift elevator. I had a good experience with CubeSmart Self Storage.

I rented 2 unites in this location, and I had the first one for over 6 years. This the best storage facility comparing to the the previous storage I rented somewhere else. This place is very clean, and net, and very well maintained. Beside The Great Storage facility, The Customer Service Is Really Great. Shar Brown Helped me when I rented my second storage unit. She was very professional, she valued my time, helped me in making a decision on the size of the unit for my needs. Tichina is awesome! She called me moments after reserving a space online, and explained how to proceed. Stopped by the office a few days later, and again, she explained everything I needed to know, walked me through the facility so I could get the lay of the land, and showed me how to find my space, as well as the lift and how to use it. Great facility, and great staff makes for a great experience. After having a storage space for several months, I needed to upgrade to a larger space. The young ladies I dealt with for the upgrade were absolutely great. Another wonderful experience at CubeSmart.

Tischina was very informative and helped my mom and I select a unit that was most convenient for us. Originally we selected a unit on a higher floor but when Tischina learned my mom has bad knees and knee replacement surgery on the horizon she recommended a unit on a lower floor. The first unit was not to out liking and she gladly showed us a better unit. She was prompt, efficient, professional and extremely pleasant.

Although I did have a decent experience through CubeSmart yesterday after touring me around the premises, showing where my storage is located and signing up my lease all together. Unfortunately this location are not deaf friendly, as I am hard of hearing, times I’ll be unable to correspond with people on the phone itself sometimes and not always hear clearly. I did not inform them I was hard of hearing which I didn’t feel the need to because of the manager spoke clearly but often spoke fast meaning I would ask to repeat certain things. Which started today when CubeSmart manager called me several times, I next then contacted the manager through VP (video phone) and refused to communicate with me after I was just there yesterday in person. Even my interpreter that was provided through VP tried explaining how it works by corresponding with me through sign language as he speaks for me. Instead the manager stated she was not “comfortable” and thought I was someone else getting information. After trying to ask for the manager’s name to know who to speak to when I call and the interpreter told me manager refused to give name and already hung up on me—was truly baffled ?? So since I was forced with no choice to call back management on own phone. Which felt manager was making my job harder in communicating when I was simply just trying to return the call. Reason CubeSmart manager was calling to have some leftover belongings needing to be picked up by the dumper which I was unaware of, and my boyfriend had told me about since he was at work after manager contacting him as well. Was needing to be picked up by 5 o’clock. So I respectfully went back around noon to collect the things with my U-Haul truck and not once manager came out to least apologize in person after seeing me pull into the premises. Felt discriminated and did not respect my way of communication despite her knowledge about of me being deaf/hard of hearing. Only cause they were not informed about it. If I were someone else calling about this location and needed more information and never been there—would she had respected the person’s way of contacting/communicating with them? Truly disappointed and not happy. ??

Tichina was amazingly helpful and personable. She goes above and beyond with customer service. My wife and I forgot our gate code and she promptly helped us with that, as well as helping us find a taker for a piece of furniture we've been trying to get rid of. Thank you again, Tichina!!

DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION OR STORAGE FACILITY. Made it impossible for me to move my belongings from the facility (they do not allow pods onto property). The manager has to approve everything and is never available. Staff is under trained no one has answers for anything. It’s impossible to call and speak to someone directly without going through an automated messaging system . JUST A HEADACHE . Go ANYWHERE else but here !

We have rented at CubeSmart storage for the last four years. Every summer, I’ve stored my college dorm things here. Each time, the move in and move out process has been facilitated by the wonderful employees who work here. They are kind and helpful, always helping us when we forget our entrance code (every single time,) or our keys to the lock (two out of three times, a scenario which required the lovely Kandrice to come to our locker with a buzzsaw to cut off our lock.) The location is super clean, secure, and convenient. No problems here whatsoever, nothing but kindness, ease, and reliability. Thank you Kandrice and CubeSmart Team.

Kandrice and Kim are the perfect picture of customer service. I first got a unit when I moved back to CT last year. After a 13 hour drive during the middle of a snow storm Kandrice made moving my stuff in so quick and so easy and what a great personality! Her friendliness made my first stop back in CT painless, which I can't say about any of the next stops! I moved into a bigger unit with Kim and she found me a spot literally next to my old one, she let my muscle move everything over while her and I took care of the paperwork, which again - made it quick and easy for me. The prices at this location are always better as well.

TERRIFIC CUSTOMER SERVICE! My wife and I rented a space for our trailer at the Sherman Ave. location a couple of weeks ago. Kandrice was amazing. Not only did she come out to personally greet my wife upon arrival (who mistakenly went to the wrong location for outdoor storage and Brenda called ahead to let them know she was on the way), Kandrice went the extra mile to show her around the facility, let her know everything we needed to bring when we were ready to park the trailer (insurance, title, registration, etc.), and held the spot for us until I could come back to take a look. My wife and I both took and instant "like" to her warm and friendly personality. She took us through the process, made sure we understood the billing procedure, and even showed us how to notify them when we decide move out. Kandrice is thorough, professional, and welcoming. She was a pleasure to work with, and we highly recommend doing business with this location.

Hidden Fees: Good communication over the phone, and good customer service. What I do not like is they wait until you go in to pay for the unit, then they telling you about insurance that you have to pay for, getting too space and has to pay admin fee twice even thou your doing everything one time, doesn't make sense to me.

We were attracted to this CubeSmart by its convenient location and the availability of climate controlled storage units with lift access for upper floor units. In addition, we were happy with the great customer support from Kendrick and Tichina. So far our experience has been great.

I highly recommend this facility. The units are easily accessible and well-maintained; and Tichina is personable and very helpful. The only recommendation I have: A drop box for payments when no one is in the office. Having to go back can be inconvenient. Other than that, thanks for a great service!

Some people are nice there, but the manager (kandrice) isn't, well I'm not going to say she's not nice, but maybe was just having a bad day. I placed a curtesy call just to give information and she talked over me the entire time, didn't listen or understand and basically whatever I said, she kept saying something else that did not apply to the conversation over and over like she wanted to argue about something. WEIRD. I did not call to argue so I just hung up. I'll be emailing corporate.

The staff is awesome especially Kandrice and Shar. Unfortunately the guy in the storage unit was running a landscaping business out of his unit and must have used a leaf blower to clean his unit. All my belongings were covered in a layer of dirt... very disappointed the outside units are not sealed better so that didn’t happen. Lesson learned.

Good storage facility. But could be upfront about insurance requirements, was blind sided at lease signing, a $ 2 insurance with $ 10 processing fee - a rip off, shady business practice. Update: I have used the storage facility for over a year, and have received good customer service from them, the staff is nice. Tichina was proactive in helping us closeout the account when we moved out.

My mom and I came yesterday 2/14/18 to rent a storage. We wanted a large space. We were shown a 10 by 20 but it was outside. We weren’t comfortable with having a storage outside. Kandrice and Tichina went to work to make our visit great. They were able to combine two 10 by 10 to meet our need. Thank you for staying after closer to work with us. This was showing us love on Valentines Day!!!!

When I went to the Sherman Ave location, I was very pleased with the assistance I received from Shar Brown was professional and informative. When I went back to confirm the reservation I met with Kandrice the manager she was courteous and helpful. Because of this I didn't go to another facility. As a long-time client with CubeSmart at Sherman Avenue, we had to do some serious clearing and shifting of our belongings. Kandrice Germain, the general manager at the site, was incredibly helpful and extremely resourceful in helping us solve various problems having to do with access and storage.
