I have had some large items in this storage unit for over a year. It was really easy to set up online, the instructions to access the unit were clear, and the drive-up unit was super convenience. More than that, the staff on-site have been really helpful. During one of my visits to pick up things, I wasn't able to open the door. The on-site staff were available and came to help. They showed me the trick (step on the door while sliding the latch over), and did it in a friendly way. I highly recommend this facility in San Marcos.

First few months price will be the same. But please expect that to rise about 50%! The price you start paying is a newcomer’s discount that last for 6 months. Start paying 120$ for 6 months then ended up at 180$. For one of the smallest units they had.

The Carmel location in San Marcos has served my family well. Great easy access with assorted sizes to choose from, as well as, each unit opening along the exterior providing pull up access. I started with a smaller unit and then a second larger space. We are now in the process of stepping away and clearing out, bought our first home. Management has been supportive and pleasant from day one, through the renting, as we clear out. I highly recommend this facility due to price, location/ access, and their friendly sincere staff.

I do not recommend CubeSmart to anyone! They have rent increases every three months and there is no limit to how much the increase can be. My last increase was $147 after two previous $40 increases. They also have a serious mouse/rat infestation problem. The mice infiltrated my box of candles, which they obviously enjoyed, and made a nest in the box that held my artificial Christmas tree. The nesting material came from my file boxes of important papers. The only reason I stayed after my unit and four others were robbed was because the manager, Misgha, is absolutely amazing! He is kind, conscientious and cares about his tenants. I hope the storage unit I’m moving to will be more secure, cleaner and won’t have the excessive increases the CubeSmart imposes.

Availability was great, and pricing was competitive with other storage facilities in the area, but they only offer month-to-month, so there is “price uncertainty” for a storage unit for a 6-9 month need. The first unit assigned had an older door that was extremely hard to lift, but the manager kindly re-assigned me to a unit with a newer roll up door that was very easy to open (my back appreciates it)! Easy to sign an agreement and they allow one’s Home Policy personal property coverage instead of theirs to save money, but you need your insurance company to include them in the Declarations page of your policy (not a big deal for those who own a home). Unit was clean, no electricity or light, but given the cost of utilities these days, understandable.

I Agree with all other 5 star reviews here, and not really sure why anyone would rate them anything below 5 star. Finally finished with a long lasting move and just got into my new place. I have used this facility for sometime while in the process of my move. cant say enough about the managers. they are always helpful and willing to go the extra mile. The level of customer service and attention to client's is 5 stars at this location. Clean but so more expensive compared to other storage facilities in the same area. I think they take advantage of the fact that they are right outside of CalState University San Marco's and know students move in & out quite frequently and need storage when they go home for summer break and such. There are apartments and dorms where we live at. Called Block C, and a lot more being built. So I think that charging $25.00 a month above their competitors per month is a bit extreme and unfair, but obviously people aren't doing their homework & shopping around because their smaller units rent out quickly. So I guess if price isnt a factor and you don't need to budget then by all means pay the $2,300. difference each year...the conveinence will benefit you. But add that up for a 4 year university $9200.... Not so smart now. Are we???

The electrical outlets and light never worked, which is one of the main reasons I rented there. Narrow doors to units made it difficult to get in and out with large items. Unit leaked be and driveways were narrow especially if you have two moving trucks in sane row at same time. Facility was clean and staff were alright, no over the top customer service personalities to talk about.v

Setting up a new unit takes quite a long time but I definitely had a good experience with the manager. He was very knowledgeable. Only 4 stars because they charge a $20 admin fee. That's crazy expensive and not clear on their website.
