I strongly recommend avoiding SmartCube (480 South Arizona Ave, Chandler, AZ) if you care about the safety of your belongings. My storage unit was broken into, my lock was cut, and valuable items were stolen. While the administrator was polite, the facility has no working security cameras covering the units, and they were unable to provide any support or video evidence to help the police or insurance investigation. Their insurance only covers up to $5,000, which is completely insufficient for anyone storing serious equipment or personal gear. If you do decide to use this facility, make sure to photograph every single item you store — ideally with a phone that records GPS data — because if anything is stolen, you’ll be left trying to prove ownership with no real help from the storage company. I had to bring my things from another country, was robbed, had no receipts, and now I’m spending weeks trying to prove what I lost to the insurance company. This place is not secure and not worth the risk. Update – April 18, 2025 Thank you for your response and willingness to help. I would like to kindly request access to the video footage from the security cameras on the day when the theft occurred. This is very important for my insurance claim, as the company is asking for proof that my belongings were actually stolen. Please let me know if it’s possible to obtain this footage or if I need to submit an official request. Thank you again for your assistance.

SCAMMERS! what a racket. so its 80 bucks a month for a lil storage spot, ok, fair enough. but guess what? if you are a month late? they bill you 110 bucks late fee. i dont mean, they add 30 bucks on to your 80 bucks past due-- they add over a hundred bucks on your bill. Seriously??? i mean, fine, charge a late fee or 10 bucks or whatever for being late, but to add over 100 bucks on to the 80 bucks past due? And of course make you buy a new lock (from them). Is there any other business, anywhere, that rips people off like this? so gross.

The front desk staff member (Kyle) was super helpful in answering our many questions and concerns regarding things like: temperatures reached inside the storage units, security, access hours, use of the CubeSmart app, pricing, promotions, etc. Although a slightly more dated facility, they did offer drive-up units (which was a must for me) that were the same Width and Height, but a longer Length than competitor locations. In addition to that, these units were also a lower price than the competition. Between the polite staff, cheaper pricing, nearby location and larger unit size, this place made the decision easy.

October 20,2024 Still have not hear ANYTHING BACK. Reply: I have contacted you- waiting to hear back. Hoping that after this review I can finally have a call returned and my money reuimbursed. Moved our belongings into two units in August moved them all out at the begining of October. Why? Rat feces were found all over our boxes and in the unit after our items were stored with them for two months. Not only that but roaches found roaming around our things as well. The amount of rat feces is completely disgusting. I refuse to pay to have my things stored in a rat infested unit. Needless to say I asked for a full refund and have not heard a word back to confirm that. I called Saturday and someone did leave a vague message about a credit/refund to my account being made- I called Monday to get clarification and state I did not want a credit as I had already moved my items out and was not planning on continuing to rent the units from them. I asked for a full refund- as I feel this is the least they could do to compensate the condition my items were left in after storing them in their disgusting units. I mean that is fair right? Who in their right mind would pay to have their items stored in the conditions mine were stored in? I have spoken to 3 different individuals and have not received a clear answer from any. Spoke to someone today and was told they would call me back by the end of the day- called twice before closing and both calls were ignored and my messages are not being returned. At this poing I honeslty just want my money back...... this is completely unacceptable and the very very least they could due is issue a full refund!!!!!!

The worst service ever during my move I used this place and monsoon hit and I was flooded and the company had no intentions of notifying me I happened to stop by to grab a few things and ya I was flooded out!! Every thing I own. All I got was a pamphlet with an 800 number and I was told to call that number and deal with that I wasn’t offering any help nor did management offered a walk with me to observe the water. I called the insurance place made the claim and I am still waiting to hear back from them during this process I went back to my storage and it was flooded out yet again I wasn’t offered any help I had to take matters into my own hand and move my stuff into the unit across the way this was also a huge inconvenience as I was not planning on moving out all of my wet belongings into the hall way. To top it off the next day I was hit with a $300 fee and they were fast to collect that from my bank!!!

The people at this location where rude to me more times than not. I only interacted with them on move in and move out. My code didn't work and they assumed I was punching it in wrong only to realise they hadn't activated it on their end. The part my lock attached to the door looked like it had been mangled. The unit was dirty and there is virtually no where to park, making unloading a pain in the butt. I ended up switching to a different storage location where they where so nice to me. I would not recommend this location to anyone.

In the fourteen months that I have had a storage unit, I have had an unsecured storage unit for at least four months....The reason for this situation is because the door to the area in which I have my things is either taped over , like in this picture, or in a condition in which it cannot be unlocked, like today, when the workers at the facility used my tape to provide access to me and another woman, who, for reasons that I can't understand, was bent on storing here. If I had my druthers, I would go elsewhere. Wouldn't you? Months ago I had to call corporate, which is really unreachable, to complain about several months--close to four months--with the door to the unit taped over. How problematic could it be to get someone out to repair it? I asked the people at the desk to do that repeatedly, but it was the squeaky wheel that got things going. I just drove over today, after not going over for four months, and found that the door to my unit would not open, no matter what. The ladies at the desk tried their keys, to no avail. The door was jammed shut. They ended up pushing in the latch and using my tape to "open" the door for those of us in that unit to have access to our storage units. Somehow I don't think this is what I pay a monthly fee for, since my unit is meant to be secure--and duct taping the lock, to which the people in that unit have a code, seems to be totally counterproductive. It is wide open to anyone who wants to go inside.... Corporate hides behind a number where you talk to someone who is low on the totem pole. I really want to hear from someone at the top of the system, but this is not a transparent operation. So when they asked how they were doing , and asked to post on Google, I am happy to be transparent and tell them that they are not doing very well and I and others in my unit are not happy with them. Give me a call. We can talk about how you are failing your clients, Please ignore the posted note from Cubesmart, which makes them look like they care. I responded to their note and even sent an email yesterday to customer care.Haven't heard a word from them...which is par for this situation. Hours later, I got a response... The absurdity of the situation increases by the hour.. Remember the assertion about a revolving door in respect to employees?Well, there is a revolving door with district managers...who haven't the faintest how the "cube" in Cubesmart is set up. I just got off the phone with someone who has the district manager's job, isn't in the area until the end of the week and has no familiarity with the set up of the "cubes" that are accessed through the door code. How did he get the job? If you haven't stored in this facility, I would think it wise to find another place for your precious items.

The most profound thing thst comes to mind about my overall experience is, just how friendly, approachable, knowledgable and patient Catalina and Sal are. It may just be "a storage facility" to most but to me it was a little more. I enjoyed going there and it made things easier having these two that were more than accommodating to me. Ive rented storage units in the past, none like this. Thos location in particular is always clean and safe. In the grand scheme of things i pay a little more than i have before however, it goes without saying "you get what you pay for. "

Great service! However, i had my unit for a little over a month went to retrieve my belongings to find my furniture was infested with roaches. The roaches were huge and I mentioned the issue when I closed my account out not sure what could’ve been done to fix it but they said sorry. They need to bomb the units before renting them. Smh

While leaving the states on Sabbatical, we elected to use CubeSmart on Arizona Ave in Chandler, AZ. I’ve learned that underpowered and overpriced insurance is the norm in storage rental, and we elected to skip it, using our homeowners insurance instead. Though the Mgr at facility said we would not be billed for Insurance, we were, and had to fuss for 2 months before the charges were backed off, this having to be done from overseas. As we were storing just a few goodies we intended to keep long term, we elected to acquire ‘Climate Controlled’ storage. We asked specifics about his, and were assured that the units were never above 80 degrees F. In Arizona, this is very important. We left a quality thermometer in the unit. On our first return, we stopped by for some essentials, and it was reading in the 90s. No one (typical) was in the onsite office. I got home and called, and was told that the A/C units were NOT turned on until there was (5) consecutive days over 90... WTH!!!! This is NOT was promised. I made several more calls and they eventually said they brought an A/C guy in to FIX the unit… FIX? They never said it was broken, if was ‘Off by Policy’. 2 days ago I visited again, and the unit was over 95 again, and we're having record temps. Again, no one in office, I call from home again later, and a pleasant but unempowered party said she would email the District Mgr… Phone tag for a couple hours, and a ‘service ticket’ was cut. NO A/C repairman, but a ticket, and an email to a DM. I went in again today, and it’s near a 100 in a ‘climate controlled’ unit. I suspect the company leaves the A/C off to increase profits. This is BS. Now I have to plan a move when we can, to a firm that keeps their promises. If I wanted to bake my valuables, I could have simply laid them out in the desert.

I went online and looked up different units and they seemed to have good reviews and feedback, also very reasonably priced. They didn't have any of the units I wanted available (the smallest) so I had to go one size up. I ended up only needing it a week or so but have to say they were so kind and helpful. The manager (male, name was maybe Octavio) was very accommodating, polite. There was a female office person there too who was also very nice. When I told the manager that I read the reviews and they were pretty good I could tell he took pride in that and told me that he was working very hard on keeping it that way. I would definitely recommend them to anyone, thank you so much for the great experience!

I reserved a 5x10 unit on line and when I went into the facility on Sunday, everything was exactly as was advertised. I got the discounts and the application process was so easy. Juan explained everything to me and even made sure my password was correct and worked properly. The facility is well-maintained and spotless. We went to CubeSmart simply because it was affordable and close to our new apartment, but it far exceeded that! Juan, one of the managers, was beyond helpful and went out of his way to make sure we got a great deal and the perfect unit for our specific situation. He was friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. I will by all means continue to use this CubeSmart in Chandler when we find ourselves needing storage again. EDIT: Our furniture was completely ruined by rats. They chewed and pooped on everything. We even paid for insurance to protect our belongings and they said it did not cover rats!! We lost an expensive keyboard and couch as a result. No help from the company whatsoever. Stay far away.
